I think MS also learned their lesson about rushing things to market last time.Rocketman wrote:Or not... http://kotaku.com/5813310/crytek-says-i ... king-aboutRocketman wrote:Looks like the next Microsoft console might be sooner then some of us expected: http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/117/1176197p1.html
Rumours. I don't know what to believe. They might have Xbox 720 hardware and be in the process of developing for it, but we can't know that for sure. Microsoft sure as hell wouldn't want people to think there's another Xbox in the works when they're trying to sell the kinect.
You mean that lesson about amassing a huge market share and creating such a devoted fanbase that they will ignore massive hardware failure because of their position in a stupid 'console war'?isiolia wrote: I think MS also learned their lesson about rushing things to market last time.
That's right. Had the 360 come out in 2006 alongside the PS3 and Wii, it would have failed horribly, but because it was alone for a year, it did just fine, gathering all the people in who had to have a next-gen console right away.Flake wrote:You mean that lesson about amassing a huge market share and creating such a devoted fanbase that they will ignore massive hardware failure because of their position in a stupid 'console war'?isiolia wrote: I think MS also learned their lesson about rushing things to market last time.

Lol, there's also bringing the specs up to par with Microsoft and Sony. Surely that counts as an "improvement", yes?Retrogamer0001 wrote:I'm not sure about anyone else here, but doesn't the Wii U seem a bit gimmicky? I mean, the only real "improvement" is the 3D aspect with a unique controller. Yes, I realize it can supposedly do some other pretty cool techy stuff, but I sure won't be rushing out to my local EB to get one on launch. The original Wii, in my opinion, is a fairly weak system based on flawed control schemes but that DOES have a wide range of appeal for the younger crowd. I'll stick with my PS3 and 360. As for new consoles from Sony and Microsoft, I wouldn't count any chickens until at least 2014 - 15. Just my two cents!
They're still gimmicks, though, regardless of whether it's Sony or Nintendo doing it.Flake wrote:Lol, there's also bringing the specs up to par with Microsoft and Sony. As for the gimmicks...Nintendo's gimmicks of today are usually their competitors E3 press conferences of tommorrow.
