Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
Re: Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
I don't get how anyone can complain about the behavior of the online community of a games multiplayer. Literally every online game I've ever played has allowed me to mute the other players. I can't imagine something as widely popular as Halo doesn't have such a common feature.
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

It does have this feature, the people playing Halo 3 are obnoxious whether muted or not.MrEco wrote:I don't get how anyone can complain about the behavior of the online community of a games multiplayer. Reach had a more human aspect to it. Partially because you were not the Master Chief and partially because you were on earth, going through active cities. It gave you a sense of "this is for the greater good" instead of just shooting people. Its kinda like the difference between Half Life 1 and 2. 1 was a great game, but 2 has a much better environment. The same is true With Halo (its just 1 and .5)Xeogred wrote:I thought Reach was an improvement because it at least took itself a little more seriously and overall the whole feel of the game felt a bit more like the original to me.

You're not on Earth. It's called Halo:Reach for a reason...fastbilly1 wrote:Reach had a more human aspect to it. Agree with you 200%.Xeogred wrote:I thought Reach was the best one since the original by far, although it still wasn't as mysterious and awesome as the first. What the original game and Reach got right though, is that they did NOT put us in the shoes of the Covenant. That was Halo 2 and 3's absolute biggest flaw in my opinion. All we needed to know was that they were insane aliens out to kill everything, but then they ruined the Elites, brought in some lame apes, the Prophets, and all this other silly junk that made it into a huge convoluted mess. I thought Reach was an improvement because it at least took itself a little more seriously and overall the whole feel of the game felt a bit more like the original to me.
The Elites were far more intimidating when you couldn't understand what they were saying and just knew that they were bad-ass aliens that wanted to kill you and eradicate your way of life.

They said that they didn't want to include it because it has been redone so many times. It is still possible though.aaron wrote:my guess is blood gulch will be in some kind of DLC down the road.
I'm actually kinda excited here. I wasn't at first, but for a loooong time I ignored all the other Halo games and only played CE, because it was way better as a stand alone game. It actually has an ending, the kind that can be continued but doesn't have to, which is the kind I prefer.
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360
WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

Re: Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
Actually, it IS the Halo CE engine. Both engines will be running simultaneously on the disc.Xeogred wrote:Yep, read about that here:darthmunky wrote:- At any time during the game, u can press a button to switch back to original Halo 1 graphics

It essentially IS the Halo CE engine, and that actually excites me. I still think CE and Reach had the best "feel" and control.
Another nice video here:

Anyways, the fact that this literally is just a "remaster" has me pretty damn excited. The original Halo is a guilty pleasure I guess, it really is one of my favorite FPS's as well, and I'm glad this isn't quite a "remake", as I love Halo CE as is... so basically it's just getting an awesome new coat of paint with some extras. Definitely excited.
