X4 was definitely quite a bit better than X5-X6. I still prefer the first three games by far though, so that might be why I'm a little biased about playing as X in all of them.

I thought X2 and X3 were good but... X1 and X4 were fantastic on some kind of level that the series has never reached again.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

About Duke Nukem Total Meltdown, I checked a video on youtube just to see how it looked (until just now, I had no idea it was Duke 3d with a different name. I just assumed it was another of the ps1 Duke spinoffs) and there's one thing that's weird to me.

What's up with the music? Its all sped up. Duke's voice sounds a little bit different too. The Saturn and N64 versions aren't like that. How odd.

I'm kinda sick so my plans to get out of town for the weekend have gone kaput. On the plus side, I have the entire weekend to work on Castlevania!

Wasted about an hour today already - I thought I was supposed to go into this sewer area next. It was incredibly hard; touching any of the water started to kill me right away. I kept trying to platform my way around the water but no joy. A quick spoiler-free peak at a gamefaqs guide pointed me in the right direction.

Still getting my ass kicked in the eternal corridor but at least it's the right locale for my little guy to die over and over again.

agreed. As far as X series goes, 1 and 4 are my two favorites now.

Well a lot of LP's on youtube are emulated (if that's how you saw it), so chances are maybe that made some stuff out of sync.

Been playing Gradius III (SNES) the past few days. This game isn't even remotely fair. But I seem to be making it a bit further every time I play, so I'm sure I'll eventually beat it.
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.

oops, I forgot! The absolutely fascinating article on Square localization in PS1-era WAS re-published online via 1UP.

I urge everyone following this thread to read it!!

Played some more FF IX. Just arrived on the games second continent. Disc 2 is longer than expected.
