CUBE RUSH
Also...Option hunters: WTF?
Fuck this. Fuck it. Fuck it. Looking @ YouTube, it seems like there's also a boss rush coming up. FUCK NO.

you didn't know about the boss rush?
do you know about the high-speed zone AFTER the final boss?
do you know about the high-speed zone AFTER the final boss?
Re: Together Retro: Gradius III / Parodius
Yeah, I had heard about that...sheesh. I am about to give up, I think...or maybe pursue some kind of code. I actually found levels 7 and 8 to be about on par with the difficulty on 1 and 2, and figured maybe I had gotten past the tough part of the game. Then level 9 started whooping my ass.noiseredux wrote:you didn't know about the boss rush?![]()

This game is just unfairly hard. At this point I think it may be the toughest shmup I've played...it's even more difficult than Ikaruga, imo.

Re: Together Retro: Gradius III / Parodius
I think I'd agree. At least in Ikaruga I can last a while. Or if I die I'm like "oh shit that was stupid of ME," but in Gradius III when I die I'm just like "fuck YOU, game."
Re: Together Retro: Gradius III / Parodius
I still think that deaths are largely my fault, but yeah I certainly want to throw the PSP across the room on more than one occasion because the game is infuriating at points. It really is a masochistic pursuit, but I think it is about time to utter my safe word ("Parodius").noiseredux wrote:I think I'd agree. At least in Ikaruga I can last a while. Re: Together Retro: Gradius III / Parodius
I had been playing both games on their default settings, but decided to give the easiest settings a try. On Parodius(PSX) I think I did worse! only getting past the first boss on 1 credit. On Gradius(SNES) I did a bit better, beating the second boss on the first credit. I think I'll pump the difficulty back up on parodius.

yeah the SNES version of Gradius III is a lot easier than the arcade version.mesmer wrote:I had been playing both games on their default settings, but decided to give the easiest settings a try. Re: Together Retro: Gradius III / Parodius
I'm finding that out. I gave it a shot on MAME, and holy shit. Even the secret arcade mode on the SNES port is much easier. However, it's also lamer. Why didn't have of the level make it into the SNES version, even at decreased difficulty? A combination of the two would be ideal, I think.noiseredux wrote:yeah the SNES version of Gradius III is a lot easier than the arcade version.mesmer wrote:I had been playing both games on their default settings, but decided to give the easiest settings a try.
