We need an American McGee's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (based off the Mel Brooks' Willy Wonka, nothing trippier than "there's no earthly way of knowing."

The Maltese Falcon
I envision some sort of awesome point and click adventure game with voice acting from the movie and maybe branching paths.
Since this signature affects old posts, I'm leaving a message here in case anyone searches for my username. This account died in early 2013. I am no longer a fundamentalist.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

I'd be down for any Sam Spade story to be adapted into a game, especially the early radio serials. Sam Spade (Both the Bogart version and Howard Duff) was the man.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Some real gritty Yakuza games would be cool. Minami no Teiou series could be some inspiration. The Sega Yakuza games are great but they are also kind of hokey. I want some grit with my gokudou!

Dreamscape would make a great video game. I mean, just read this IMDB description of the movie:

"A government funded project looks into using psychics to enter people's dreams, with some mechanical help. When a subject dies in his sleep from a heart attack Alex Gardner becomes suspicious that another of the psychics is killing people in the dreams somehow and that is causing them to die in real life. He must find a way to stop the abuse of the power to enter dreams."
