Long Island (Franklin Square and most of western Nassau county) and Staten Island are the "jersey shore" people. You'd be hard pressed to find "Guidos" living in any cool areas of Brooklyn.

Jersey smells too bad and the pizza is terrible (some of the worst i've had in the country). I have a lot of family in NJ.

Well, yes, it does not smell good around Exit 16 (?) of the NJ Turnpike where there are a bunch of refineries but otherwise, I think it's a great state. I still think the Jersey Shore has some of the best beaches in the US on the Atlantic side.

I'm not sure why you think the pizza is bad...it's mostly the same as NY. At least you don't have Greek Pizza that is common in Mass.

And even when I talked about learning self-defense, he just laughed and said that I'd need a gun!

And whatever I say to my mom, she'll do one of two things:

1) Offer a counterpoint that basically just makes me feel stupid
2) Realizing she has no logical response, just says "Fine, go! Just don't expect me to visit". And that makes me feel stupid.

That's why I instituted the "no negativity" ruling.
Anything you want to do, unless it's working at McDonalds or going to jail, people are going to say you can't do it, it won't work out. According to Rush Limbaugh, it's more important to listen to those who succeeded in what you're attempting than those who failed or never even tried.
And what's so bad about working at McDonalds ? :)

The greek pizza i've had in NY is unreal! Feta + Mozzerella + Spinach!!! So Good!
I will also admit that the shore is fun.

Preach on brother! And you're right about the greek pizza! Good stuff man, that's my favorite, along w/ white cheese pizza! Where do you get your pizza? I like Branchinellis in Hauppauge off RT111 for my pizza cravings and even Ol Sole Mio in Stony Brook rocks for both Italian food and obviously pizza. Damn it! I'm hungry now!!
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Ok.... we must live very close together because Branchinelli's is LITERALLY right around the block from me. I live across from the high school. There is a Greek place in Northport near my friend's studio that has the best fricken' greek food, but I don't remember the name.

**EDIT and derailing this thread a bit** Oh.. and pizza I almost forgot. I don't get it often because the prices have been jacked up over the past few years but here's my list of awesome places.

Branchinellis - Hauppauge
Little Vincents - Huntington Village
Uncle Guiseppe's(Spelling?) - Huntington Station
Pizzelli - East Meadow... my fav pizza place. Breadcrumb crust and sweet sauce!!!
Phils' - Massapequa - ate here all the time growing up
Abeetza Pizza - Massapequa...sadly no longer around
Papalardos - Massapequa around the block from my parents. I never liked it much, but the LI Press raves about it. The owner's son is a professional skater and Steve Guttenburg is best buds with the owner. The place is a Guttenberg shrine.
There's also another place in Huntington Station right near my friend's house on Depot RD, but I forget the name. I like it quite a lot.

The complaint that I have about Greek pizza has to do with the crust. I like thin NY style or the Chicago deep-dish. Many of the Greek pizzas are baked in a pan and the crust has a spongy texture. Chicago deep-dish pizzas are also baked in a pan but it's thicker and has a hard crust.

Spinach and/or feta cheese, I'm all for it.

While I am a die-hard dem, I'm inclined to point out the obvious logic with what you've just quoted from Limbaugh.

I also heard something similar from Farrah Gray.

Polyester? Intense hunger pangs? Having to keep mum about what's in the fryer?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against McDonald's... as a consumer. But seriously, their chicken club (minus the veggies and sauces, leaving only the cheese and bacon) is the bomb, especially when you put some fries on it (between the filling and the bun on both sides).

No, I don't but my university roommate works there part-time. I thought it would be a bad job but he said it's the best part-time job he ever had, he can choose whichever shift he wants, the pay is a bit over average and suprisingly, he says this job is not repetitive and boring! So even though I make some money by buying/selling games, I would like to give Mcdonald's a try, sounds much better than temporary jobs I have.
