Re: My gamestop has stopped selling PS2 games
A few of mine only have the discs in sleeves but 10 minutes away there is one that doesn't have any sleeves and tons of PS2 games.

Re: My gamestop has stopped selling PS2 games
Mine still sells em, but there isn't a ton of stuff left.
A lot of copies of Persona 4, Persona 3 FES, and some other rpgs that I already have.
Its ok with me, because now even more ps2 games will end up at the flea market (and there were already more ps2 than anything else.) It is kinda sad that they didn't have any kind of crazy sale to end it, but they did just do the GBA sale.
Most likely the stores that are smaller are shipping all of their ps2 games to the stores that have room. I know the store near me keeps getting new ps2 games in, but they are priced way higher than the used games.

Re: My gamestop has stopped selling PS2 games
My Gamestop still has GBA and PS2 stuff too. And they still have a new section on the PS2 shelf, although it's very small.fvgazi wrote:They will sell off their stock if they have, but not take anything in most likely. Everyone announced that they were stopping GBA. Two weeks ago I walked in and they had a box of random GBA games and a list of the more rare expensive behind the counter.Weekend_Warrior wrote:This thread title seems a little confusing.
So you mean to tell me if I drive down to one of my local Gamestop's right now there won't be any PS2 games there, and even if there are they won't sell it to me??

I would have thought ps2 sales were still going strong at gamestop.

PS2 games still seem to be going fairly strong around here. There's less of them, but none of my local stores do the sleeve thing and there's generally at least one two-sided floor located (not against any walls) shelving unit full of PS2 games. Lots of them have dvd cases with generic gamestop inserts if the original case isn't included, but at least they actually have some sort of case instead of paper sleeves.

Re: My gamestop has stopped selling PS2 games
I always wonder how Gamestop did so well with used games... maybe I am picky or something. If they are in paper sleeves I don't even bother flipping through, if they are in generic/beat the hell up cases I don't bother, if they don't have the manual I pass, and after all of this... there's not usually any games leftCzernobog wrote:Lots of them have dvd cases with generic gamestop inserts if the original case isn't included, but at least they actually have some sort of case instead of paper sleeves.
I went to a couple Gamestops today and they didn't have any good PS2 stuff. However one of them still had a rack of original Xbox games (although all of them were generic and beat up cases, the only ones that weren't were some dance games).
Re: My gamestop has stopped selling PS2 games
Make sure you ask them if they have any PS2 games in back. At my GameStop they stopped selling Gamecube games, but they would print out an inventory list for meof games they held in the back room. I could still buy them, they just were not displayed.

Re: My gamestop has stopped selling PS2 games
I didn't know gamestop tossed out the manuals even if they were included. I have 3 gamestops near me that I frequent and they all keep the original case, manual, inserts etc. They do put those stupid yellow stickers on the cases but those can easily be cleaned off. I too never buy any used games from there unless its in good shape with all the original packaging. At least one of the gamestops near me does very well with used ps2 games. Daily trade-ins with a good selection of at least over 300 games. Sadly the good games don't last long though.
