My gamestop has stopped selling PS2 games

No warning, not sale...Yet still have gamecube games on their small shelf....end of an era I guess

I don't mind so much, as so many of the big retailers here seem to have nothing remotely worthy left i.e. shelf upon shelf of EA and WWE yearlies.

I've recently been buying up all their GBA games that they don't have out on display.

I also have a decent list of PS2 games left to get, but the Gamestops around me have gotten stale on getting any new games in. Seems like whenever I check it's the same old stuff so I can't really find anything new... and I'm in Houston where there are a ton of people

I started getting into ps2 games about 3 months ago, and the gamestops in my city hardly have any ps2 games being traded in.

Honestly, this is fine with me. GameStop was thorwing out the cases and manuals to quality titles. Now that they are no longer accepting PS2 trade-ins, I think you will start to see a lot more complete games showing up at yard sales, thrift stores, pawn shops, and flea markets.

I don't think it makes much sense, but it fits Gamestop's model.

Personally, I'd rather see them buy/sell/trade on everything back through the 8-bit era. Not just sell used current generation games with ridiculous margins.

But, yeah, given how they seem to revel in destroying cases/manuals/etc by covering them in stickers or just plain tossing them, may as well keep more copies out of their hands.

Dang, I better go get Champions: Return to Arms before it's gone. I've been putting it off, waiting to see if it would end up in the $9.99 and under bin.
