I think this person only joined to promote his game. Considering it's both his avatar and sig, and he's only made this one post here.

Neither MalwareBytes nor Avira turned up any infections on the exe I downloaded from the site...

We make retro games, we want to share these games with the right market.BoringSupreez wrote:I think this person only joined to promote his game. Considering it's both his avatar and sig, and he's only made this one post here.

I don't want to sound like a downer, but if I were you I would try and record a higher quality video of the gameplay for promotion. The still photos you have on your facebook link look so much better than the 240p video on the main website - you're loosing a lot of detail.
Re: Retro Gamers of the world!!
Lol, it's not hostility. But you can't blame people for being a little suspicious when some random person creates a profile for our community just to post one vague advertisement for a game that no one has ever heard of. If you want to get someone to download any kind of a .exe program, it helps to build a relationship or develop your presence.Predator wrote: Whats with the hostility?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Look, it's not a smart marketing tactic to request comments to be deleted when you are trying to use our discussion forums to sell your product.Predator wrote:So, please, can I ask you guys to either remove your comments or give some proper criticism, be it good or bad after playing the game at least.
Note that you are not "sharing" anything, you are selling a game. People tend to react poorly to that kind of dishonest marketing. I, for one, would have been far more interested in your game and much less "hostile" if you actually talked about the game or about your game company.
And, let's be frank. You only joined to promote your game. Pointing the obvious is not exactly hostile. You are not going do add any valuable discussion to our discussion forums, you are here to use them for profit without giving anything to the community in return.
EDIT: Not breaking forum rules also tends to help.

Re: Retro Gamers of the world!!
Well I watched the video and here are my initial impressions for you.
The video really didn't sell me. The art looks good and has the cute retro vibe to it, I liked it, but the gameplay its self didn't grab my attention. It seems very straight forward, go from this side to the other and grab stuff with most enemies being only slightly in the way. I didn't see any sweet enemies and power ups, no fun boss battles, and no story was shown.
If all your game has to offer is spiffy retro inspired 2D graphics and straight forward platforming where you need to collect a mess of stuff there are tons of indie games that do that better for free.

If adding a new retro-style game to the world doesn't give anything to your community then I don't really know what will.
Thank you for the crit, appreciate it. I'll ask the rest of the team to add a little bit more story and other game-elements to the video.KDub wrote:Well I watched the video and here are my initial impressions for you.

I actually agree with all of what you said. The game does feature ALL those things mentioned above actually and more.
