PSP Downgrade

Post by kgcarini »

Hey guys,
I got a psp 2000 with 5.51 firmware loaded on it. I want to use it to play emulators. I've done some research and found out that the firmware needs to be 5.03 and needs chickhen. I've looked around and cannot find out how to downgrade the firmware from 5.51 to 5.03 or how to use the chickhen file for a psp 2000. Thanks. :)

But for a more focused answer regarding downgrading:

But yah, you should be able to play emulators on almost all PSP versions now. My personal suggestion is to upgrade to 6.20, and use the TN-HEN, much more reliable than chickHEN:

If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

Why on Earth are you considering using a HEN? You have a 2000, the whole benefit of which is to avoid needing to bother with a HEN. Custom firmware that thing!

IIRC, not all 2000s can have custom firmware.

Yep, there are three motherboards used in the life of the 2000 series, only the first once is modable with a Pandora battery. IIRC, the last two models with pandora-able motherboards were the Jax and Dextar PSP, and the Starwars White PSP.

I have the 6.39 OFW and run tons of homebrew using a light CFW.
