Best Racing Game on 360 or PS3?

Okay so I haven't played a racing game since Burnout 3 back in 2004 and I'm really itching to play a new one. What do you think is the best racer on these consoles? I don't really like sim racing, mostly just arcade racing or mario kart style.

I would suggest Forza 3 if you are interested. I was pleasantly surprised with how much they took the focus off the simulation dept and focus more on racing and arcade feel.

I'll second Sega All-Star Racing, it's a pretty damn good Mario Kart-style game, and it's pretty cheap too.

If you liked Burnout back in the day, you should check out Burnout Paradise. It's a bit different, in that it's more of a sandbox game, but it's still the same crashing and racing from the old burnouts. Think of it as Grand Theft Auto without the Grand Theft. The only real issue that I have with the game, is that there is no local multiplayer, which to me seems insane for a racing game. It's an amazing game though, it's just hampered by this particular detail. I strongly recommend it.

If you like arcade racing, I strongly suggest Split/Second. So bloody awesome.

Burnout Paradise is pretty good. Its like a free roam racing game, you can do races and all that or just drive around collecting cars and finding secrets. I really liked Burnout 3 as well. It kinda got me into the whole racing genre. Other than Burnout Paradise, the Motorstorm series is really fun for off road type racing with bikes, ATVs, Rally cars, etc.

NFSHP (the recent one) is about the only racing game I can recommend outside of off-track racers. It's semi-arcadey, it drops the open-world bullsh*t and it has nice visuals.
