The points can be summed up as such:

1. Graphics pretty much plateaued last gen; though we can still make them better the difference isn't nearly as striking as it was between 2600->NES->SNES->PSX->PS2

2. The industry keeps trying to find a new way to convince you to upgrade your setup.

3. iPhone games are too damn successful for their budgets; it makes all the big studios look like financial morons.

4. We're overdue for a reworking of how what we call video games are categorized and sold to consumers.
