So, for BlazBlue, did you complete everyone's story to get the game's ending, or just play through arcade mode? I am playing through the 3DS version of the game right now, and am loving every minute of it.

Also, I wanted to recommend trying out Gundemonium Collection for the PS3/PSN. The games plays exactly like a PS1 SHMUP; it is difficult to describe, but I know it would be right up your alley.

I just beat Arcade Mode. I never ever play through every character in a fighter. It's just not my style. There's always some characters I don't even like, and I don't have that sort of ACHIEVEMENTS mindset to motivate me to bother with that sort of thing.

Ah, okay. I thought so; otherwise, no one could beat the game so quickly. :P I am 100%ing the game, simply because I love the care and detail put into each character's story. It is something completely unprecedented in a fighter, to have the story of an RPG.

But, once again, I do highly recommend you try out Gundemonium. I played it, and thought the whole time, "Why haven't I heard Noise talk about this game?"

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (PS2)(Action Adventure)
Jet Force Gemini (N64)(TPS)
Super R-Type (SNES)(Shmup)
Mega Man X7 (PS2)(Action Platformer)

TOTAL: 24

Done, son.

So let me state first that I didn't only beat the game, I saved every Reploid, obtained every piece of equipment, and found every tank. So I didn't just beat Mega Man X7, I smashed it. And the game is terrible.

First, let's talk about the issues: camera changes from between 2D and 3D (and some crazy mixed angles in between) make the directional controls a bit wonky. And the camera angles spinning around constantly cause some nasty perspective issues, especially when some of the platforming comes into play. The final battle in particular is a pain with the constant changes in perspective. I died quite a few times just walking off of ledges while trying to dodge Sigma's attacks.

Next issue: the voice acting. You can set the voicework to Japanese, which I did. Unfortunately that only matters during the story segments; everything else is in English. Every call from command, every shout of an attack from a Maverick, every transition from one character to another. It just seems a crude oversight, especially when mixed with the Engrish("Thanks for your playing !" at the end of the credits come to mind) and the bizarre typo on the back of the box concerning how much space is needed in a PS2 memory card for an MMX7 save.

And then there are the boss designs...you know what, no, I don't really want to go into the likes of Tornado Tonion or Flame Hyenard. But I do want to discuss one of my most hated elements of the game: saving reploids. There are 16 reploids hidden in each of the main 8 levels which you have to save. Certain items can only be unlocked by saving these reploids. Unfortunately they can get killed by the enemies...permanently. Which means its quite easy to miss out on something that could be a matter of life or death. Oh, and X isn't available unless you find 64 of the 128 reploids, so screw up enough and you'll never actually play as the title character.

Are there good parts? Well...yes, actually. A few of the levels were actually kinda fun once you get past the having to find the hidden reploids. In particular Tornado Tonion's(God I hate that name) radio tower was kinda cool. Soldier Stonekong(another name I really hate) had a fun 2D forest level that felt reminiscent of the good ole days.

Still...the bad weighed pretty heavily on this one. The reploids issue alone is enough to break this game for me.

Still, I did it. Flake, you're up.
