Not in any order:

The Orange Box (Xbox 360)
Half Life 2, and its episodes, are some of the most fun, atmospheric games I've ever played. This game would be in a top 5 games list, period, not just top 5 current gen games. Plus Portal was a great little bonus.

Call of Duty 4 (PC)
The best COD game in the series. At the time, having a playable character be scripted to die while you were playing him, and having no way to avoid it, was pretty novel. I didn't expect that to happen to me, expecially after COD 3 was so uber predictable. The music was done by my favorite composer, Harry Gregson-Williams, which is another plus for me. Added to the atmosphere.

Chrono Trigger (DS)
I know this is just a port of a 16-bit game, but I enjoyed it far too much not to mention it. The very best game available on the DS at the moment, IMO, and the best RPG in existence.

inFamous (PS3)
The first game I played on PS3, and it was a great intro. I've always liked sandbox games, but they've always suffered from bland characters and forgettable stories. But not this game. I really liked the comic book style cutscenes.

Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3)
It's hard to pinpoint what's so great about MGS4. It doesn't stand out in any one particular area, it just has an incredible amount of polish overall. Sort of like Half-Life 1. It did little new, yet there's no denying it's still one of the best FPS games in existence.

Haven't posted my list yet. I can't until I get this out.

Why the hell does everyone love 3Dot Heroes so much? It's probably on more lists in this thread then any other game!? I just don't get it. What am I missing? I have the game and have put in about 6 to 10 hours or so. Can't really remember. It just blows my mind how anyone can like it. I'm just like all of you. My first system was the NES when it came out. I did the Zelda thing and loved it. My problem with 3Dot is it doesn't take itself serious at all. All the humor for me in game is a failure. I get it, but it doesn't even make me smirk. To me this game is mocking everything that I loved about aLoZ. It's not a nod to the past because whenever I play this I feel dirty because whoever originally decided to copy the format did so with the sole intention of a free ride. Minimal work to get maximum reward. If you want the LoZ gameplay or setup then there Are tons of other games to pick from who actually try. 3Dot is a slap in the face preying on on gamers between 25 and 40. I'm not gonna fall for it any longer. This game is crap and a waste of time.

I do love everything else Atlus though- maybe there's a few exceptions. Sorry for any typos. This troll is happening on a fuckin shit iPod touch and I've been drinking.

If anyone thinks I should give the game another chance I might but after the above rant it won't be for a while. Below is my list:

1. Oblivion: Its not Morrowwind bit I still love it. Put in 100 hours plus before I even got to the first waypoint after getting out of the sewer. My buddy was like "So how's the story?". That's when I said I don't really know, I've only logged about 100 hours.

2. Bioshock: Did everything right. Deserves allthe praiseit received and more. Just the right amount of everything. I put it up on high with the likes of Half Life 2.

3. SF4: Revived the francise. Sf3 is stil my
fab. But that's jut cause I suck at sF4. Just ask Seven0 or Mjmjmmr.

This is actually really hard to do. Just 5 eh?

4. Metal Gear Solid 4: 10/10

5. Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fortune for PSP: Can I do this? Best RPG story ever. That is all. The ultate re-release. Everyone should own and play through this.

Actually, I kind of thought the same thing when you put Twilight Princess in your list. Not everyone know this, but TP was a Gamecube game. Nintendo just made some tweaks to it(reversed the world and added motion controls)and used it to sell Nintendo Wiis over the Christmas holiday, which I thought was kind of lame. I bought the Gamecube version just on principle

Pretty true, I doubt the visuals were even improved at all? I played the Wii version originally, but... even if I get a Wii again, I just might get the GC version next time instead.

There are so many games this generation I havent played but some games that stuck out for me this generation would be:

Batman Arkham Asylum
BlazBlue
Super Stardust HD
Beat Hazard
and uhhh Super Street Fighter IV i guess....have alot of games I need to play. idk i have been more interested in watching anime lately then playing games. I have been enjoying ModNation Racers for the PSP lately, but I don't know about Top 5. I guess that and the PS3 version would be an honorable mention.
NES, SNES, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, Wii, PS3, 360, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, PSP 3000, and 3DS XL

1.- Bioshock
2.- Deadly Premonition
3.- Heavy Rain
4.- Braid
5.- Flower

I know those are weird choices but those games are great.

I don't have a PS3 and haven't played an awful lot of titles on my Wii. So my decisions are mostly based on experiences on XBox 360, Nintendo DS, and modern PS2 games with a smattering of Wii.

1. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition (XBox 360) - Absolutely incredible RPG that as far as my RPG-experience is concerned equal RPG-perfection. So open-ended, so many quests, so many locations, so many hours spent in this masterpiece.

2. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii) - Super Mario Bros. is back at it's 2D platforming finest in this entry. Such a great Mario experience that shouldn't be missed by any Nintendo fan.

3. Super Scribblenauts (DS) - There is such a level of creativity in this game. It just unlocks so many possibilities of gameplay and imagination. I've spent hours on end just playing around in the welcome screen.

4. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (XBox 360) - This may be an odd-duck to many of you, but I'm a comic geek, always have been. So I have a soft-spot for super-hero games when they're actually done right. And Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is a shining example of a super-hero game done right.

5. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS2) - Yeah, I know, a lot of magazines like to label this entry as the black sheep of the series because it's when Activision took the reigns. But the reason I like this one the best, is because I feel like it had the biggest selection of Metal songs (not counting Metallica tunes on Guitar Hero: Metallica) in the series; and I'm a metal-head so naturally I gravitated towards this entry. Call me a casual gamer or whatever for liking this series, but I like music, especially metal and hard-rock.

If I could actually count Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (XBox 360) as a "current-gen" game, I would have included it. Sega's best games from it's best era are collected onto what maybe the greatest classic game compilation of all-time.

In no particular order:

Mario Kart DS - Still playing the multi-player during lunch breaks to this day.

Resident Evil 4 Wii - The strongest argument for motion controls.

Trauma Center: New Blood - A perfect game to play through with your girlfriend.

Dead Space - Not since Silent Hill 3 has a game been this tense.

LittleBigPlanet - Platforming reinvigorated with some of the most endearing visuals.

Dishonorable Mention:

Mario Kart Wii - Unnecessarily dumbed down game-play and controller throwing infuriating A.I.

You know I don't like Mario Kart much but after I tried the GC version, wow, just wow, the Wii game is crap compared to it!

Far more luck-based, worse level design, worse handling, it's simply worse, IMHO.
