Is there a problem with my oXbox?
I just recently bought an oXbox and 3 games, GTA San Andreas, Doom 3, and True Crime. All of these discs are in flawless shape, but after about 20 or 30 minutes of gameplay, the Xbox freezes up and says "there is a problem with the disc you're using.". And sometimes, it won't even start up, and it'll say it doesn't reconize the disc. Does anyone know whats going on?

dying drive. post a pic the the oxbox with the tray open, top down, to see if it's a known-shitty drive.

I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.

Yup the dvd drive is dying. You can get replacements easily enough. Last time I checked they cost around $50 for the better brands. There's also guides to cleaning and doing pot adjustments http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/xbox_dvd_repair.htm.
I'd recommend getting it modded with a bigger hard drive so you can just ftp games onto it though.

Considering that you just bought it and probably don't have a lot of saves on it... I would just recommend buying another Xbox . For $30 - $50, you could probably score one off Craigslist with some games.

Sounds like a bad drive. I'd just sell it as broken on ebay, and get another unit. If you've got any irreplaceable data on the drive, put it on a memory card.

I have no problems with xbox or 360 because I don't own one.

I had a similar problem on mine that was inexplicably linked to corrupted data. Granted, it's a long shot - but if you don't have any important information - it might be worth it to try and delete files on your drive and try again.
