Holy Mountain's great, but I think my favorite Jodorowsky is Fando Y Lis. It's really a tough call with him, as he's responsible for 4 cinematic masterpieces. FOUR!!! He also directed The Rainbow Thief though, and that licked dingleberries BIG TIME. But yeah, Holy Mountain rules.

Inland Empire - I could've lived without. I think it really would've benefited from extra time in the editing room. I don't think Lynch will ever top Eraserhead. Especially not if his recent (post-Inland) shorts exemplify the future standard of his work. But hey, that's just me.

Either way, as odd as those films may be, they don't got shit on this.

I would say that Fando y Lis is my second favorite Jodorowsky film, El Topo being third.

I wasn't big on Inland Empire either. It was alright but I'd say it was one of his weaker films. I think his best one is Mulholland Drive, but Eraserhead is awesome too.

Any Tsukamoto fans?

House of 9 is exactly how you explained. My friends loved it but personally I didn't like it too much, not bad but not great.
Here's the synopsis from imdb: Nine strangers, with no apparent connection between them are abducted: drugged, kidnapped and sealed in a house together.

Haze is sort of similar I guess, I think it's a Japanese film if I can remember correctly, possibly Korean. It's a shorter film though, I think 40 minutes. It might be a little different from what you're looking for but it's very similar to a saw type movie, just with 1 guy trying to escape through a certain hell. Very claustrophobic movie.

You know, Predators actually fits the criteria he put forth. So does the shoddy remake of The Haunting.

And El Topo was my favorite Jodorowsky film.

I know this sounds stupid but my favorite Jodorowsky film is Santa Sangre, beautiful, haunting and brutal. One of the best horror films I've ever seen.

Identity was already mentioned, but I'll mention it again.
Pandorum kind of follows this formula for a while.
Pitch Black just about does.
Cube 2 follows the formula, of course, but it's pretty terrible.
SuckerPunch would work if you want a headache or sleep aid.
The Poseidon Adventure would count, I think. I don't think that Poseidon would, though.
As has been mentioned, "zombie" movies often fit this description.

The Breakfast Club.

Or... that one episode of Star Trek:TNG. You know the one.
