3. NES Dam you blinking screen (Lifted the pins for a better connection but after 5 or 6 game inserts its back to flashing.)

My 360 rroded on me but such a simple fix. Still rolling with the HDMIless model.
Had a Gamecube break on me. Think the laser went. Would only read Phantasy Star so it was hard for me to complain.
The lens on your dreamcast is failing. You need to open it up and replace it.

Most unreliable for me would have to be PS2 Fat and Original Xbox. I come across tons of failed Xbox systems and a few broken PS2 fat systems.

I've never had a system fail on me and I don't consider dirty pins a failure. Most of the time its the games fault for being dirty and getting the system dirty. :P

Most unreliable (personally)

1 - Xbox 360 : RROD like the rest of you
2 - Sega Dreamcast : All the second hand models are burnt out from boot leg discs.
3 - Playstation 2 Slim : Some wacky problem with the A/V port that makes getting a clear image tough.

Most reliable (personally)

1 - Nintendo Gamecube : I have like 4 of these bad boys. They are all champs.
2 - Nintendo Gameboy : Every gameboy I have owned works to this day.
3 - Sega Saturn : These things are built like tanks. I own three and each runs like it was manufactured yesterday.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

totally agree with you man, n64 analog stick is horrible, seems like after a couple months of use the stick lean and not accurately centered.

I had bad experience from the oringinal xbox controllers, it always seem the buttons start to get sticky after a few months of ussage.
Xeogred wrote:Worst controllers in my experience:

1. N64 - After heavy use, these joysticks pretty much broke down.
2. Xbox 360 - Dunno what it is, but these things get so dirty quickly, stiff, and the joysticks seem to easily mess up (my oldest controller always like to stay in an up position internally, which is extremely annoying when trying to play games).

My brother loaned me his Xbox 360 while he was out of the country and it RRoDed on me, Later I picked up my own after they supposedly fixed the chipset, and the dvd drive crapped out on me about a week after the one year warranty was up. I've since converted to the ps3.

Also my gamecube fails to read discs sometimes, but this is after it survived a 4 foot fall onto concrete...

The only other console that's given me problems is my NES, but I've since replaced the pin connector and it works great now.

You actually used that controller!?...

For months on end no less!?...

On a side note, the best controller for me would be the SNES SN ProPad. A bit short, but very nice nonetheless... ^^

Definitely dude.

I'll also say that I find the Genesis to be very reliable. I've never come across a non-working Genesis (any model) before.

Generally.

Newer hardware. Less moving parts.

The same can't be said about Genesis controllers from my experience :(

The most unreliable in my experience would probably be

1. Sega Genesis (model 2) - However I will say I've had my for quite a while. The main issue is getting it to start-up. Sometimes I have to keep resetting it.

2. NES - This I had when I was very young though it was technically my older brothers. Regardless I remember lots of blowing upon cartridges and scrambled screens. We probably could have fixed it but we weren't exactly tech savvy in those days and just chucked I believe. =/

3. Sega Dreamcast - It worked great while I had it but since I've loaned it to my older brother he's told me there have been problems getting it to work sometimes. I might try and fix it for him if I can figure out what the issue is.

PS2 and Gamecube both work like a charm for me and I've never had serious issues with them. Occasionally a game may freeze or my Gamecube may reset itself but otherwise they work great. And I've had my PS2 almost since launch.

>>I can definitely attest to this. The original controller with my genesis is becoming unplayable. But the Six Button one I have works great!
