Or you want to play with people for the foreseeable future. I give vanilla SSF4 about two-to-three months before everyone drops it for SSF4AE.

I've heard that AE is more rush-down friendly. Is this true? If it is, it may be worth it to me - that's kinda the biggest thing I hated about the entire SF4 series.
I will not be paying another $15. I already bought SF4. I'm done paying for it.
And not to sound like the guy alone is rickety cabin in the woods, "But if I can't hold it, touch it, and put it on the shelf, I don't own it. If I can't own it, i'm not paying for it."

To clarify things, for those who have SSF4 and want to play with AE users, there is a free update/patch on the PS Store. This does not include any characters or balance changes, just small replay channel and lobby features.

For some reason, pre-update users and post-update users can't play together, which was the problem I was having with Sev and Mj yesterday :?

As for AE users, you can create lobbies for "SSF4", "SSF4 AE" or "BOTH."
From what I understand, "BOTH" means that either SSF4 or AE version will be determined before each match starts based on what the two players have. So if player one has AE and player two does not, then the match will be SSF4.
And as Sev said, AE users can switch versions. From the options menu I believe.

I'm mostly the same way. I've made some exceptions for DL-only games that I really wanted. But at that, I'm so picky. I haven't bought SF2HD or Puzzle Fighter HD, because I have a tough time spending $10 for a digital file that I basically already bought the physical game of.

I'd rather pay $15 for the digital update than $40 for a worthless disc that does the same exact thing. Just sayin'.

Also, looks like SSF4AE may not be the final version after all. I guess I should have expected as much. Maybe next time they can put in some characters I even slightly care about.

I couldn't agree more with you guys on the digital download crap. I heart real shit.

I might be on later with a buddy just playing SSF4 - no AE. If you guys are on please send me an invite.

Try trading that download when you tire of it, just sayin'.

I should be on shortly - for a bit anyways, i'll send an invite chupon...and anyone else who's on.

I don't trade games in - and if I did, try trading SSF4 in and getting SSF4AE back, and spend less than $15 out of the whole affair.

I've got a damn good feeling SSF4 is not trading in for $25. Hell, considering it released at $40, I'd bet it was trading in for sub-$25 before it even launched.

I mean, if you want to pay $40 for a 'environmentally-friendly' hollowed-out piece of plastic, a disc and a black-n-white instruction manual with no heart or soul put in to it, then don't let me stop you. It just seems like a waste of space to me.

Hell, I've got stacks upon stacks of games and cases all over my room because I just don't have shelf space for them. If I can get a game digitally - AND it's much cheaper - I'll go the digital route. The only way we'd be on the same page is if the retail and digital versions were the same price.

1) Neither do I trade, I trade w/other gamers - and I can't trade downloads.

2) I paid $19.99 free ship/no tax (amazon) and I could easily get that back out of it right now in trade value, or probably cash on this forum.

3) I actually think the PS3 case is pretty darn solid and well constructed, it's not hollowed out at all like wii is starting to do on some 3rd party titles. My manual for SSFIV and ALL of my other PS3 games are vibrant, in color, and on quality paper - not sure where that comment generates from?

4) You should trade those to me!

Just saying there is not a guarantee with something that isn't tangible and accessible. Theres a reason people pay hundreds of dollars for a copy of JP SAT shooter that they could easily burn to disc, emulate online, or download.

Not trying to argue bro, but I think i'm in the majority, on this forum at least, of folks who would much rather not be reliant on an internet connection, a quality burn, or some other means to make their games play the way they were meant to be played. Thats it - to each his own.

Actually, the reason is collectionism. There's no reason aside from that. Downloaded ISOs of Radiant Silvergun play the exact same Radiant Silvergun as an original copy. If your burned CD rots, you burn another one. If your original disc rots, you spend another $150.

I'm cool with collections and all, but it's bullshit to say that it is more reliable to have a physical copy. MAME will still be here when all arcade PCBs stop working.
