How does it compare with other stores in the Detroit Metro area? And for that matter, how is that Destiny Games you mentioned?

Not necessarily the best prices, but you will find some decent deals from time to time.
An occasionally rewarding alternative to Destiny Games (Canton, MI/already on this list).
Did Xlr8 reopen? It's been a while since I've been down there, but it looked like they were closed down for a few months.

Went to check out Gamecoland in Clinton Township, MI and it's closed down. That should probably be updated in the OP

FX Game Exchange
3000 Custer Road
Plano, TX 75075-4422
(972) 212-4233

This is a great store with nice deals on all kinds of games and accessories. I recommend subscribing to their newsletter (Weekly Frag) to get info on all their tourneys/promotions. All of their tournaments that I've attended have had very generous prizes in addition to the cash pot and were run very efficiently.

I'd also like to +1 the Game Over store in Austin, TX. I've only been there once but the experience was great, they put on a lot of awesome events and the one I attended was no exception. Excellent selection of games and accessories as well.

I agree I think this place is closed as the last couple times I drove by it was middle of the day and it looked like no one had been there in months.

Sudden Impact in Massachusetts is great. Decent value on trade ins. Already on the list. Mostly good prices and the owner is a great guy. I fix consoles for him sometimes. Selection of hard to find games is a bit weak, but that probably will vary from week to week anyway.

There is also GameZone in Salem, MA which is not on the list. Horrible prices on most things and the owner was the most fake "nice guy" I have ever met. Extremely friendly but not very sincere sounding. Gave me a hassle about returning a game that had some deep scratches and was skipping as well. Another employee I have dealt with at that store seems like a good guy and is cool to talk to but has no control over the awful pricing to game condition ratio.
My B/S/T thread! :)

I dunno if its worth mentioning, but the modesto game exchange, ziggys in tutlock, and the store in ceres are all owned by the same people.

I work literally less than a minute from the modesto store, and I drive to the bay area or sac to go game shopping when the flea market isn't pleasing.

Hey guys, this is my first post here.

I'm trying to get into retro gaming, but I am not sure as where to start. I figured I would found a store to look at, then found this thread. My question is why does one of the Game Over stores in Austin have a plus one? Is it better than the others? My other question is why does D-pad have a minus one? Is it bad?

In case you can't tell, I live in Central Texas, around San Marcos/Seguin. I would be willing to go to Austin though if Game Over is that much better.
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

The +/- ratings are based on each individual store; they are submitted by users if the store proves to be exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. One point=1 user review.

I went the the Pendergrass flea market a few weekends ago in Georgia. I didn't have a great experience and didn't end up buying anything. At the time there were three vendors that primarily sold video games. One to the left of the front door, one to the right and one straight back.

The one to the left had a pretty poor selection and prices were not that great. There were also a bunch of kids huddled around a tv on the floor playing some games which obstructed viewing of a substantial amount of the games. A friend of mine bought some original Xbox games from him and one was scratched up really bad (his fault for not looking). It will have to be professionally resurfaced to be playable.

The one straight back from the front door had a pretty good selection but the prices were for the most part outrageous. They didn't have any prices marked and when ever you asked how much something was the guy running it would just seemingly make up some random figure on the spot. It was also very hard to browse his games because of the way he had them laid out on the table. I was afraid I was going to knock them all over the floor by browsing.

The one to the right from the front door was pretty decent. Prices were anywhere from fair to good and they had ample selection which was easy to browse. Unfortunately they just didn't have anything I was looking for. :(

The flea market was a 2 hour drive from my house and I made a special trip out there just to check it out. That is not something I would do again based on my last experience. However, if I happened to be nearby, I would probably stop and check the place out again but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Overall, I'd give the place a -1 but it is a flea market and vendors change so your mileage may vary.
