I'm not able to join Sev and Mj's lobby. Is it because I installed the AE update kit?

ok, i just intalled AE on my SSF4. you are able to switch back to the "original" SSF4 from the options if we can't connect with each other. but from the reviews of AE, we should be able to play each other either way. maybe the person that has the AE have to host the lobby.

What's the deal with AE, is it free?

if you already have SSF4, it's 14.99 upgrade through PSN Store or you can buy it on retail for $39.99 for the full game.

yup. I love SSF4, but I see nothing worth $15 to me in the upgrade.

i also would not recommend to upgrade to AE, unless you have an extra $14.99 on your PSN account like i did.

Or you want to play with people for the foreseeable future. I give vanilla SSF4 about two-to-three months before everyone drops it for SSF4AE.

I've heard that AE is more rush-down friendly. Is this true? If it is, it may be worth it to me - that's kinda the biggest thing I hated about the entire SF4 series.

yes. players who have upgraded to AE can also switch back to normal SSF4 mode on option.
