Re: E3 2011
I think for me BC became important when the PS2 launched. I was 18 or 19 or so and working part time retail. Buying the PS2 was a huge hit to my finances, but I settled on it because I'd be able to play DVD's on it as well as PS1 games. This meant that although I couldn't even afford any PS2 games for a while (or have any interest in much of the launch lineup for that matter) , I could afford a bunch of cheap Greatest Hits PS1 titles. Truth be told, my real memories of first owning a PS2 are playing Rainbow Six and Final Fantasy VII. In reality, I don't even recall the first PS2 game I ended up buying. But somehow, even then I saw this new box that would play two game libraries plus movies as a really cool one-box solution in my first apartment.

Too many missed posts to catch up, so this may be here already. Or maybe you're all done wanting to talk about the Wii U...
But anyway, saw this article on ubergizmo.com (http://www.ubergizmo.com/2011/06/wii-u- ... r-preview/)
Of Note: Buying two or more of these controllers could become costly real soon (Update: It appears only one Wii U controller can be used with the Wii U – a handicap that’s limited due to the streaming power that is required by the console)

Re: E3 2011
Why are we even talking about the Wii U so much in this thread? From what I've seen about E3 we all need to be getting ready for a huge batch of remakes!
Re: E3 2011
Yeah for me E3 was Dragon's Crown and that's it. Dragon's Crown was a pleasant surprise though.

Re: E3 2011
I'm starting to get a bit interested in the WiiU. It's also nice to hear that the controller is comfortable.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see for myself though. The ability to use Wii stuff is a huge plus. Especially if that means I could use a classic controller for nearly all the WiiU games. If that ends up being the case I may actually buy it.

Older. Not wiser.

As a Wii owner, I'll recommend you don't unless you find it in great condition, complete, for less than $100. It's just not that great of a game system. If you want to play Wii games, I'd just wait till the Wii U comes out.AppleQueso wrote:the best thing about the Wii U is that now Wiis are gonna get even cheaper

Re: E3 2011
If it's got games you want to play, may as well. There are quite a few good core-friendly type games for cheap on it ($10-15 range), and the current deal is $149.99 bundled with Mario Kart, which still sells for $39.99 (on Amazon anyway).
Main thing I don't like with it from a value standpoint is that, similar to previous generations, a number of the big-name, first-party games have never dropped much in price. Plus it's accessory hell.

My plan was to get it for around that price, used anyhow.BoringSupreez wrote:As a Wii owner, I'll recommend you don't unless you find it in great condition, complete, for less than $100. There's a lot of exclusives i'm interested in, and it seems like a more sensible thing to do than buying a gamecube component cable.
Re: E3 2011
Exactly my plan as well. Sure I've got a Cube, but for $50 more or under I can buy a Wii instead of some outrageously overpriced cables.AppleQueso wrote:My plan was to get it for around that price, used anyhow.
