Street Fighter One
Last week I finished Street Fighter One on Xbox's Capcom Collection Vol. 2. The controls are jerky and unresponsive but it was oddly fun. It felt like an accomplishment that you can execute a move and it actually hit. Plus, my finishing move on Sagat was the Dragon Punch so I felt proud that I did something that was in canon.
I wish Capcom would somehow update this. I know some Mugen creators have made their own versions where you can play all the characters and provided them with backstories. But it will still be nice to see all of them with some Street Fighter Alpha-like animation or something.

I think Capcom had milked the Street Fighter series more than enough.PhoenixReborn wrote:I wish Capcom would somehow update this.

Perhaps, but it'd be cool if it were completely justifiable for once. Besides, I'd jumpWeekend_Warrior wrote:I think Capcom had milked the Street Fighter series more than enough.PhoenixReborn wrote:I wish Capcom would somehow update this.
at the chance to fireball Geki into oblivion.
Re: Street Fighter One
Yeah, Street Fighter One really doesn't offer up anything that needs to be re-visited. And half the Street Fighter One cast is in other games.
If Capcom got into the 'revisiting' business, I'd like to see more worthy entries get a nod like Dark Stalkers or Rival Schools.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Street Fighter One
I'm a big fan of the Street Fighter mythos, so updating the first one and including some references with the other characters' histories would be interesting. Like the possible link between Geki, Ibuki and Vega. I don't care about who is milking what and what is "worthwhile" as long as I like it. I've learned not to be that invested in what video game companies do.Balasubbie wrote:Perhaps, but it'd be cool if it were completely justifiable for once. Who remembers the SF1 machines with only one punch and one kick button which were big rubber pads that you have to smash really hard? I used to beat the shit out of those things when I was a kid...even when I had no quarters.

Yeah, I'd be keen on it for similar reasons. I mean, the engine is upped and ready to go, there's a wealth of folk willing to do it and it'd be pretty budget. There'd be no harm.PhoenixReborn wrote: I'm a big fan of the Street Fighter mythos, so updating the first one and including some references with the other characters' histories would be interesting.
