Another mod chip thread...

Post by ns12123 »

I recently purchased a Saturn mod chip from racketboy. I have a model 2 Saturn. I followed the instructions verbatim (had my father do the soldering for me as he's been doing it for years). The mod chip seems to be securely in place. Originals work, but copies don't. Mind you, these are copies that have worked previously with the swap trick. Since I had some experience with the swap trick, I have noticed, however, that the laser no longer moves to perform the copyright check. Any idea what the issue is?

Definitely. It's much easier. It's not 100% guaranteed to work, but pretty close.

The only thing is since you did the "normal" method, you probably already have solder on the 32pin chip

Ok, I'll have to give it a shot. Seems like everything works well, it just does not read burned cds. Anyway, racketboy, I didn't notice that you're from Michigan. I'm from the Grand Rapids area.

Well, Racketboy, you sold me a great mod chip. The isos I had were NTSC-J. Just a matter of patching them. Thanks!

Doh! Man I've wasted so many CD-Rs forgetting to patch the region.

I gave up trying to mod my Saturn when it read all CDs as audio cds. I could not find anyone who chould help me with it on the internet (this was sometime ago) so I just took it out and it still plays normal games fine. Anybody have any ideas? The chip looks like the one Racketboy sells and it is in the AB method. My guess is that it is a dud.
