oh man, can you just switch to SOTC now instead???SwooshBear wrote:Starting playing Resistance Retribution. On the 3rd or 4th level and it's really nice. Playing this along with Splinter Cell. My ps2 is starting to fail on me so I hope I can still play SOTC and God of War this summer.

I wish, but my Ps2 won't read discs at the moment. This has happened twice before and my father has taken it apart to "clean the laser" as he calls it. It's worked to past two times so it should work again. The Ps2 is one of the first ones, if not a launch model, so I'm impressed that it's lasted this long. And believe me, SOTC is going to be beat ASAP.noiseredux wrote:oh man, can you just switch to SOTC now instead???SwooshBear wrote:Starting playing Resistance Retribution. (Looking back at my post, it looks like I'm playing Splinter cell on ps2. To clarify, I'm playing the XBox version)

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
Well, I just learned that the Caanoo SMS emulator [as well as all PSP and DS SMS emulators] doesn't support FM audio, so I guess I will just play it through again on the Wii. I figured out that while the Wii SMS emulator doesn't support in-game saving, it does support savestates, so I will go about beating the game like that.
Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
So I picked up CT again today for a few hours and started doing some additional quests, since I obviously need to do more to prepare before facing off against the final boss. What's odd to me is that it seems the stuff I am doing is hardly "side-quest" material as I am continuing to uncover much more of the story, face some more interesting and challenging enemies than the penultimate boss, explore more of what is going on in the time periods I visited previously, etc.
Anyway, I am still having fun and it doesn't feel like I am grinding or doing pointless fetch missions. It'd be a shame if I had just packed it in, but it seems very odd to me that the game gives you the opportunity to do so at all.
*very minor spoilers below*
The battle against the Beast(s) was a lot of fun as was the one against Giga Gaia (or something like that). In fact, they were both better than about half or more of the battles previously. Why wouldn't these have been part of the "required" element of the game?

D2 (DC)
Flower Sun & Rain (DS)
Elemental Gimmick Gear (DC)
I think that's about all I can handle.

I'm 5.5 hrs into CT now. Just died on that fight against the two kids that merge into the big thing. I'm actually surprised I died, I was holding up pretty good against it.

Already starting to waver in Tales of Symphonia. It's becoming formulaic far too fast.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Contra: Hard Corps (Genesis)
Super Metroid (Super Nes)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1)
Rayman 2: The Great Escape (Dreamcast)
Harvest Moon (Super Nes)
Resident Evil Code Veronica (Dreamcast)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
Lightening Force (Genesis) - Complete
Paper Mario (N64)
Fur Fighters (PS2)
I finished off Lightening Force the other day. I'm no shmup enthusiast, but it was quite fun, and while it was difficult, I never once thought it was cheap. Good times. I might check out the rest of the Thunder Force series one day.
I'm making great progress on Mario Galaxy 2. Technically, I've beaten it in that I fought the final boss and saw the credits, but I've only got 73 stars (as per usual, you only need 70 to see the end) out of 240. I won't count it as complete until I've done everything.
My list up there is "final", but subject to change if I feel like it.

Well, how far are you in it? The first portion of the game is intentionally like that; don't worry, it knows that it is following all the tropes.Flake wrote:Already starting to waver in Tales of Symphonia. It's becoming formulaic far too fast.
