New Digital Classic Video Game Publication
OK, I tried doing it the traditional print way (to no avail) so now I'm turning The Video Game Archeologist (The VGA) into a digital publication. The downside is that the design takes a bit of a hit due to the ePub format, however the upside is that the price is only $2.99. Even though the design takes a hit there are still a ton of screenshots.
At the moment it is only up for sale on the Nook site (which has free eReader Apps for every single platform you can think of, including desktops and Android). The link to it is below. I would love to hear what everyone thinks, and as always be brutally honest (as it's the only way I can improve it).

Also, one more thing, I'm hoping to go live on the Apple iBookstore within the next week, and that version will also include gameplay videos. I'll post on here once it's up.

I'd like to but the problem is the kindle is black and white only, which isn't the best medium for a color magazine. If they ever update to color I'll gladly port it.
Re: New Digital Classic Video Game Publication
All of the major ereaders are b/w. Kindle, Kobo, Nook (before the color) and a whole crapload of others. You'd probably open up a better market for yourself by designing for b/w.

Well, the Nook has a free app that works on Mac and PC desktops/laptops, iPad, iPhone, Tablet PC's, and the Android platform (tablets and mobile), and it does it in color. Plus when it goes live on the Apple Bookstore it's going to have gameplay footage videos.

Well, I'm going to be updating my website later tonight or tomorrow with a couple images, although each users experience is going to be different. The thing with the ePub format is that the user can change the font and the font size, which means that the complicated design work isn't exactly possible yet. Basically the reviews are anywhere from 1,000-2,000 words and contain about 10-15 screen shots between the paragraphs (which is the only way to insert pictures into ePub format, which is the only current file format for Nook, iBooks, and every other eReader). Hopefully over the next few months they will do updates and allow for more complex designs, but at the moment it's kind of basic.
