yeah it's mind-blowing to me that EASIEST mode is actually pretty difficult. Haha.

Just got my copy in. To my surprise, it was boxed! eBay has some surprises after all. I'll have time this weekend to sit down and play.

I just fired up Gradius I just to make sure I'm really not as horrible as I thought. Sure enough on NORMAL difficulty it was somewhere in the middle of the third level that I finally lost a life. HOLY SHIT Gradius III is hard!

I'm not that great at the original Gradius myself actually, but yeah it's definitely easier than Gradius III!

Now the original Life Force / Salamander, that one is pretty brutal.

I found it on the cheap. I remember playing it fondly. I'll get the PS2 version one day.
