fumble though the menus and play it?

Much like how I played nes games when I was 5.
No need for that nowaday. Almost everything is being translated on the internet. Just do a search. Gamefaqs.com is where I go when I can't figure out the menu or the playing mechanics.

What about those of us who do actually have a Japanese girlfriend?

Well, some are in english, like Under Defeat. The menus are all in english, and from what I've seen in youtube videos Karous' menus are in english too. It really doesn't matter the language anyway, it's a shmup.

hey some of us still play games like that.

I finally played Karous I don't think is worth that much money. Fun game, but there are some better shumps in that price range.

I just got my copy today from Play-asia, I love it! Definately worth the money. The only thing I can say I don't like about the game is the bullets, I'm having trouble figuring out which ones cause damage and which ones don't. The soundtrack is amazing too! :D

Yeah the bullets can be trickey! I'm trying to get used to the absorb feature. I keep thinking it's going to launch all the bullets back like Mars Matrix or Giga Wing 2, and when it doesn't I end up running into stuff.....

I've thought about dropping the money for this game recently. Yes, it's pretty easy, but it is still tons of fun to better your high score each time rather than trying to simply make it past a level, like many other shoot 'em ups. It still pops up on ebay from time to time.

This game is still easy to understand, despite my inferior Japanese. I don't need to understand that much to know how to play or know what is going on.
