Thankfully someone here is happy about it. I'm not the only one here.

Seriously, why so negative? The name sucks, sure, but why exactly is this SUCH a bad thing besides the lack of specs. Am I just a dolt? Because I'm not getting the negativity here.
I think most comments are more dumbfounded surprise rather than negativity. We expected to learn a lot about a new console, and we didn't.

Personally, Nintendo didn't really do much to sell the system as something other than a 360/PS3 controlled by a tablet with buttons. I guess I just expected to see something to get more excited about, but so far that hasn't happened.

If the WiiU controller lets me play Virtual Console games on the controller screen I'm sold.

It fucking better be.
This is the deal breaker for me. If it is compatible with GameCube games and controllers and costs less than 300$, I will buy it.

If it can render Gamecube and Wii games in high res (as emulators already can), then it'd be well worth it.

I speak as if I won't wind up buying one anyway >_>;

Why would you rather play it on a controller than a big screen?

We'd be lucky if it's under $500

So is this conference over? I'm not able to watch it. Did they give the price of the system??

Odds are itll be $250-300 for the console and $80-100 per new controller. That seems to be Nintendos way.

Im in for console, two new controllers, and two games at launch any way it comes.

Is anyone else left with a feeling of confusion?

Gaming is slowly being ruined with each new generation.

Because my wife watches a lot of TV while I usually play PSP or GBA in the same room. Having access to VC and other Wii games while I try to ignore The Bachelorette would be ideal.
