I think Nintendo did pretty well. What with all the new third party support for them now they actually have up to date graphics? Looks pretty promising to me.
Plus it's still quite early before this things release so there's bound to be more details and improvements to it. I personally thought the graphics in the little demo they showed us looked amazing.
I will say however that their controller is HUGE, and I believe they mentioned that the system will probably cost a bundle. Right now it looks like it could go either way for me, but it mostly looks promising.
The name does suck though. Seriously, what the fuck were they thinking?
E3 2011
Re: E3 2011
I'd say so. I just watched their debut video, and they only chose to show a handful of games, some of which looked like an updated version of Wii Sports. So is it compatible with the Wiimote?AppleQueso wrote:It's apparently a tad more powerful than the PS3, from what I've heard. I don't think we've been shown much of anything to really give us a glimpse of what it can really do.
I'm a bit interested in that gun they were playing around with, where the controller operated as a scope. That would certainly be interesting in console FPS.

So... Is the WiiU a new controller for the Wii? The new controller for Nintendo's new, unnamed console? A self-contained console? A controller that works for the Wii as well as the new console? Beats me.

It looks like the Wii and 360 had an adorable baby.gtmtnbiker wrote:Here are some pictures:

I kinda think the Wii U remote looks vastly uncomfortable. I'm curious about it's weight.

NeverGoBak wrote:Guys, they clearly said it's a new console, they're just putting a lot of focus on the controller. It's the most out there feature of the system. Remember ROB? They never focused on the console in those commercials either, though for a much more justifiable reason.
Also, 3DS is suddenly a must-have, can't believe I even considered the PSV being better.Didn't you see that game with the bird? Graphics seem to have plenty of power. Besides, you can't argue with handheld Smash Bros. and Mario with Tanooki Suits and Music Boxes. The other sites I'm talking about this on, and my IRL friends are all pumped. I think it's just you guys who aren't.darthmunky wrote: I hope not, lol. This is the worst E3 I've ever seen. I think even Microsoft did better this year. Wii U is complete and utter shit. it was supposed to be more powerful than 360 and PS3 combined... well it still just looks like high res gamecube graphics. and where the fuck is the actual console, I want to see pics and specs of the hardware.
EDIT: In all seriousness, a handful of the confirmed 3DS games can probably beat out Sony and Microsoft combined this year(In my mind, doesn't even matter what you think of Wii-U.
The bird thing was a tech demo, you can get much more power out of a tech video than you can in real time gameplay. Still, it's clearly a good step more powerful than the wii.

When Fils-Aime said the name of the new Nintendo system I groaned. I think it's a really lame name. Oh well, it'll be in my living room once it's available.

New console, new controller for only said console. Seriously, I thought that was clear?lisalover1 wrote:So... Is the WiiU a new controller for the Wii? EDIT: Also, who thinks Squere Enix is going to make Wii-U one of their main consoles? I wouldn't much enjoy it, but I know a lot of people who would.
