Hopefully Nintendo will have something. I've only watched the Sony and part of the Microsoft pressers along with what's passed by on some of the bigger gaming sites. Are there any awesome small games I may have missed? I know the floor doesn't open til tomorrow, so maybe I just need to wait.
I think the presentation has been kind of lackluster so far.
If I were an Xbox owner I would be a little upset. Other than a couple of multiplats (that I wouldn't play) and Halo 4 (which isn't coming until... 2012?), there wasn't much there, IMO. It felt kind of like they were abandoning the group that has made the Xbox what it is today. However, Microsoft made their bed... They advertised the shit out of Kinect and therefore sold a shitload of Kinect. They need to validate that purchase for those customers.
Sony had a pretty impressive spread. I think they missed the opportunity to capitalize on it. The PSN debacle seemed to hold them back from really going nuts. I got the impression that it was on many of the presenters' minds. I saw at least a handfull of titles I would lay money down for. $249 for the Vita was the 1995 "$299" moment I was hoping for.
I can't wait for Nintendo's conference. I have a feeling they are going to announce this new console and it's going to be a megaton of awesome. I'm hoping it's going to be a nice piece of hardware and that they will bring the 3rd parties to the stage to back it up. They are in an awkward stance with the 3DS now, but I don't expect them to drop the price until September.
The real excitement for me has been behind the scenes or understated. KOF XIII is coming to consoles, Guardian Heroes HD, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike by the end of the summer (using GGPO!), a new Wipeout, Sony 3D display for $500, Tenchu (?) and much more I'm sure. This is shaping up to be the best year for video games in awhile. This E3 and pre-E3 has at least been the most relevant in awhile
for me.
