I don't think I've ever thrown away a game, but I would consider it if it was broken and too much trouble to have it fixed. However, when I was younger, I threw away boxes and manuals for my NES games. Later on, I threw away the boxes for SNES games but I kept the manuals. Nowadays I keep everything, even useless shit like registration cards and whatnot.
I have had games that I didn't want and I couldn't sell so I just included them in as a free bonus with stuff I've sold on Craigslist. The buyers seemed happy to get free stuff.

Re: Have you ever thrown out a game?
I gave some games to family members a few times, some good ones too. While in principal it was nice and I dont necessarily regret that part, I was effectively sending them out to die as they were destroyed by young children, pawned, or just thrown away by them. Very sad. You would think if they were done with them they would have just given them back or something. Oh well, such is life.

I did this too! And I really hate looking back on it. I kept all of the boxes for years neatly stacked on the shelf. Then I had a discussion with someone and maybe they were telling me that having the boxes didn't affect trade in value for games (not that I had ever traded a game in at that point or even bought one used) or for some reason or another I just threw them all away. I actually saved all the manuals though and found them about 2 years ago in the attic. I might have one or two of the manuals left, but I know I was able to send them off to the good home of another racketboy member.sevin0seven wrote:no, but i remember throwing my mint N64 boxes when i was very young.

My B/S/T list
I also rent and sell PS2, Wii and XBOX softmod-kits and I collect DVD movies let me know what you have.

List the stuff here, even for free (+ shipping). Games will get snapped up. I know I would have paid shipping for a few of the games mentioned here (except FFXI and the Pokemon bootleg).

At least take them to Goodwill so that us thrift store lurkers can waste some time finding these games that are ultimately not going to sell because they are overpriced by Goodwill.

Re: Have you ever thrown out a game?
i throw games out.
if i have a common/cheap sega cd game in shit condition that the average person wouldn't want in mint condition i will toss it. also, if the long cases are wrecked i toss them. no use in keeping the stuff around.
i do have a handful of ex-rental sega cd games with clear tape covering the manuals i haven't tossed yet. they aren't even worth trying to sell because i know the average sega cd collector won't want anything to do with them. i actually want to bring them to goodwill to see how long they sit on the shelf before being bought.

Re: Have you ever thrown out a game?
Yeah I had one Sega CD game (I don't remember what it was) and I decided I would sell it on Amazon.com. Some games sell better this way, but Amazon has fixed shipping limits. So to ship a Sega CD with its big heavy case I loose money. I don't think the game has its manual, just the big case in not so great condition, so I tossed the case and back insert then sold just the disc and ended up being able to pocket about a dollar of Amazon's shipping allowance instead of having to come out of pocket $2 or $3 for some cheap game.final fight cd wrote:i throw games out.

I've never thrown out a game but i am tempted to throw out my copy of Fighting Force 2 for the dreamcast.
I still don't get how this is a sequel to a decent beatem up.
Also the horribly incomplete Star Wars Demolition can go to the bin with it
