@OP - you never answered this question.gtmtnbiker wrote:So the issue is that you don't know your son's account password? Why not login into Windows Live using your son's email address and click on "forgot password" or something like that?

I did, it was in the original post:gtmtnbiker wrote:@OP - you never answered this question.gtmtnbiker wrote:So the issue is that you don't know your son's account password? Why not login into Windows Live using your son's email address and click on "forgot password" or something like that?
No personal data means there is no way you can prove you own the account to get a password reset email sent to the parent account. Email recovery messages never came, even though the system said it was sending. Phone reps told me that it takes possibly 5 days for an email from that system to go through, call again next week.

Yes, I saw that but that is info sent to the parent account. I'm referring to logging into the live website using your son's email address and clicking on forgot password. Doesn't it have the option where you can answer questions or it send a password reset email to your *son's* email address?
Again, I'm not asking about the parent account getting access to the info.

I got ya. The account was auto generated, so no answers to questions were asked (mother's maiden name, etc), and no opportunity was given. I went through all the steps on window live, including the "one time" option where they'd try and text a code to your cell. No dice.gtmtnbiker wrote:Yes, I saw that but that is info sent to the parent account. I'm referring to logging into the live website using your son's email address and clicking on forgot password.
