IMO I don't think any of the new portables are comfortable to hold. I love the PSP for portable homebrew but I also love the DS for it's software titles but I just can't play either for anytime longer than an hour or so. After that my hands just hurt like hell. The Gameboy Colour was the height of ergonomic design for a handheld in my opinion. That thing was so comfortable to use for hours on end.

I think when the manufacturers started making the consoles look good they forgot to make them comfortable to hold. Which is surprising, especially considering Nintendo's stance on ergonomics throughout the years. They always spent the most R&D in creating the controllers for their next system to make them as comfortable and easy to use as possible. Yet the DS and the DS Lite are really uncomfortable to use for extended periods of time. Same with the PSP. I think it's the position of the the shoulder buttons that does it personally. They just don't seem to be in the right place for my fingers.

well on both of the slims ive owned (silver one( i didnt like it cause it didnt match the ps3) and black) the L button is "loose" and when i press it down for more than a second like when aiming down the site in MoH it cuts in and out. Also i agree for the most part, other than i thought the GameGear was just as comfortable. But i thought the original was easier to hold, but it gave me cramps even though comfortable. well thats what they make this for...
