I played about an hour of Dead Or Alive last night. It's actually a lot harder than I expected. And the fighting system is much deeper than I expected. Very interesting. I can tell you this: I like it better than Virtua Fighter. But I'm really not too good at it yet.

I'm no expert as I haven't beaten the game, but I thought Chrono Trigger lets you fight the final boss at almost any point in the game once you've gotten in a bit. Beating him at different times get different endings, though the best ending is if you do all the sidequests. I played part way through the game once, and I think I had at least 15 or 20 hours and wasn't close to the end. Unless you're super quick with RPGs I'd say you've got much more of the game to go. Like I said though, I don't really know. I remember someone telling me this like 10 years ago.

Best ending is if you beat him on your Newgame+ from the fair, with just Chrono. You can fight him anytime after you meet the oldman at the lightpost.

I just got the Masamune completed and am about to have my party for the rest of the game: Chrono, Robot, Frog.

I'm about 2 hours and some change into Tales of Symphonia. So far so good. I made sure to consult with Lisalover on how to get maximum enjoyment out of this game - long, long games are very difficult for me to finish. So far his suggestions have helped me out a lot, especially his advice that I not bother with grinding.

It's crazy but that little piece of wisdom has totally changed the game for me - now instead of a grueling, time consuming RPG affair it has become a seat of my pants, always about to lose, action game. I.E. the kind of game Teddy Roosevelt killed Spaniards and Cubans to protect.

I also practiced some Super Mario Land this weekend - the physics on that game really throw me off.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

The thing with Chrono Trigger is that there are 12 different endings (or is it 13?).

There are a variety of points throughout the game, some quite early, where you can attempt to fight Lavos. Most of the early points are only worth attempting on New Game+.

The thing is, it's best to go after the other endings (if you're interested in seeing them) after you've completed the game to its fullest and received the "main" ending. If you face Lavos early and count it as beaten, whether you win or lose, you'll miss out on a good portion of the game, including several sidequests that only open up near the end after a major plot event. Considering some of the most interesting stuff happens in the back half of the game, there's a lot to lose there.

I've been playing that one off, and on, it's pretty hard later on if you ask me. You'll probably be catching up considering how much easier the first few worlds are. See you there!

A bunch more Super Mario Sunshine tonight. Got a little over 50 stars now and have been feeling quite lost since around 40 stars. I literally have no direction. I keep assuming that every 5 or 10 stars I get will trigger some event, but nothing is happening. I dont know what I'm working towards or when its going to happen. I suppose I'll just keep collecting stars and hope for the best.

I cant seem to find the guy that I'm supposed to give my blue coins to either. I've got close to 60 of them, and I feel like I've talked to everyone in the Delfino Plaza, but I've obviously missed someone.

Usually Mario games are very straightforward when it comes to your goal. Its quite frusterating not having that. Cant wait to be finished with it.
