Re: Least favorite parts of your favorite games
Well these are things I hate in games in general
Loading screens
Developer logos before you get to the title screen
Pointless Game Over sequences where the developers basically laugh at you and insult you
Bosses who have random attacks instead of patterns and don't telegraph their moves properly
Bosses with fifty billion hit points, which accomplishes nothing other than wasting your time
unskippable cut scenes
Escort missions - At the very least make the person I'm escorting smart enough that I don't want to kill him myself
Turret sequences with flimsy turret controls - What is it with turret sequences? So many games have them
Combat ranking systems that don't make sense i.e. the stupider you fight the higher your rank. Looking at you Okamiden

The caves in Phantasy Star Online. For some reason they just seem to drag on and on and on. Not to mention the boss that takes me forever to beat.

The forced scrolling, floating level in Mario 3. I don't think I have every completed that level without using a p-wing.

Earning money in both Shenmue games. Hate the forklift especially, but Lucky Hit was a pain in the ass too.
Re: Least favorite parts of your favorite games
The road to the final palace in Zelda II. Pure masochism.
Disappearing blocks in the Mega Man game, as someone has already mentioned.
Respawning enemies in platformers like Ninja Gaiden (NES).

Maybe someone will do a hack of Sonic 3 where they completely redesign carnival night and make it fun. Those vhooomp things that shoot you forward (and up) and the spinny candy cane ramps were cool.
Also metropolis zone sucked.

Yeah, remember the flying bike levels in the SNES version?... They were so intense that when you actually flew into a wall it always came as a shock... lolMidnightRider wrote:In fact, anyone who ever created instant death traps with limited continues should be tortured in hell for all of eternity(like whoever worked at Rare during the era of the Battletoads games)
Zoom... Zoom... Zoom... Zoom...

Two words, Halo Library. So many of the same looking rooms with the same looking flood enemies. Sections of Resident Evil 5 where you split up and are at the mercy of the idiotic AI of Sheva. Grind on RPGs in general, Don't mind a bit of grind, but make it have some purpose.
Re: Least favorite parts of your favorite games
Forced level grinding in any RPG ever.
The entire second half of Resident Evil 4. The village section was just so amazing that the rest of the game lost a lot of the charm.
All of act 3 in MGS4. It starts off with a damn escort/tailing mission immediately followed by an on-rails section and topped off with one of the worst boss battles of any MGS game (Raging Raven).
That one puzzle in realMyst where you had to get the sliders to match the music notes that the organ was making.
The uncanny valley feeling I get whenever I'm around an NPC in Fallout 3 or New Vegas.
Thats all for now.
