So the issue is that you don't know your son's account password? Why not login into Windows Live using your son's email address and click on "forgot password" or something like that?

XBL takes 1200 points off one guy for nothing, PSN goes down for everyone for a month. Don't think anyone's going to say XBL SUCKS GET A PS3 now.

Haha I know I was just being facetious. Although I've never personally had any problems with XBL and Microsoft Customer Support (well, regarding their consoles, their Windows licencing leaves much to be desired, been given the run around with them many times). This seems like a very bizarre issue and one that could have easily been avoided by buying the game on the master account, since all accounts can access that content regardless of who bought it on the system.

In future, just buy it on the master account, saves hassle.

Sure, maybe he should have done that o begin with, but thats not the issue here. The issue is that Microsoft is refusing to help in recovering the password or alternatively just moving the points back to the master account. The system should not have a flaw like this in the first place and fedexin is out 15 bucks because of it.

@fedexin: Keep trying with support as well. The more you bug them with persitance and demand to speak with higher ups the better your chance of having a positive outcome.

What else can I tell him? There is no fix, it is impossible to transfer MSP from one account to another. His only option is to hound Microsoft Customer Support which he already is doing. However, what that will do is beyond me since they've already said that even they cannot move MSP from account to another...

Moving microsoft points from account to another is what got him in this mess in the first place, so them saying that there is no way to undo the effects is complete bullshit. Sure, maybe they don't have a convient way in the system, but they have options, they are just being lazy asses. They don't even have to go to the trouble of removing the points from the child account and crediting the parent account again, they just have to reset the damn password fedexin needs and he would have access to the points on the child account and then the problem is solved. But no, they "can't" do that.

No, all they need to do is debit the points from the child account and then credit the master account.

So, I'm a project manager in the tech industry, so I know all about laziness and passing the buck with regards to bug fixing. This is a large bug, and an issue with MS customer service tools. I don't know who at MS to escalate this to (barring Mr. Hyrb) so unless I can get thru to the comsumerist blog or the like, I'm at an impass. I'm not done fighting, the money isn't the issue anymore; it's my nature to fix bugs!

This is correct, but their points allowance system only allows one way points transfer; from the Parent to the Child account. They don't have the tools in customer service to undo this.
