Yeah. The leg upgrade has two functions: Air Dash or double jump to hover. You can slowly hover left or right for a second or you can hover in place for a few seconds.noiseredux wrote: ....hover ...boots?

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
Oh, what a nice idea! I'll join in too, since I always need more motivation to beat some games. Here's my list... which is subject to change, if I find a better fit or some of the games make me break my TV:
1. Mega Man Legends 2
2. Mega Man 2
3. Sonic CD
4. Ikaruga
5. Shadow Hearts
6. Shining Force
7. Metal Gear Solid
8. LittleBigPlanet
9. Portal 2
10. Brave Fencer Musashi
I found it really hard to make a list without flooding it with RPGs... that seems to be all I buy nowadays! And of course, most of the non-RPG games are pretty hard (at least for my lack-luster gaming skills), so it's gonna be a doozy. It was also a little hard to make it all older 'classics' per se... I don't own as many retro games as I would like.
I can't really start today, but when I DO start, it'll likely be with Shadow Hearts (it's the only game on the list I have progress in) and Mega Man 2. Let's see how far we all can get!

I feel like I missed something. How do I do these things you're describing?

OK, I've definitely missed something -- I can't dash in the air. I can't double jump.noiseredux wrote:

Just to be sure, we're talking about the blue dragon, Heckran, right?
I'm sorry, when I said form, I meant his pose. Ignore what I said earlier about alternating, I made a mistake.
Here's the deal:
When he curls up with his arm forward and tells you to attack, absolutely do not attack at all. If you do, he counters with Water. Just heal up or use items to restore your magic. Wait him out.
Do your best to hit him only with magic, (he's extremely resistant to physical attacks, you can use them, it just won't do much good) and only do so when he's standing up.
thanks dude! This helped a lot. I guess I didn't realize how import timing the attacks were. It was a breeze once I got that down.

@Noise
Go to the Jungle Level. In the first section of the level there will be an area where you are dropping down several platforms. You'll see a waterfall on the far right screen. Try to jump through it. You'll go to a cave where you get an upgrade from Dr. Light.
Do you have the armor, helmet, or mega buster upgrades?

I didn't even know upgrades were a thing in this game. So no, I don't have any of that shit. Should I be impressed I made it this far with none of those?Flake wrote: Do you have the armor, helmet, or mega buster upgrades?

Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
So, I beat the first of my 10 games today - Wonder Boy in Monster World.
The game was great, sometimes it risked being a bit samey, but it held my attention nicely. There was some awesome tributes to the earlier games in the series, which as the mild wonder boy fanboy that I am, I really enjoyed. The graphics were nice, the music was acceptable, even if most songs weren't as iconic as the ones in Wonder Boy 3, and overall I'm glad I played through it (although I've been planning to for a while anyhow).
After beating Wonder Boy, I decided it would be a good idea to play through one of my longer games, but I'm still working through Final Fantasy III atm, so I didn't want to start another RPG yet. So now I'm playing through Banjo Kazooie. I got all the jiggies from the first 2 levels, and I'm enjoying it well enough, although the camera is a bit of a pain.
Who else was it who was planning to play BK? Was it Snickerdoodle? Whoever it was, do you plan on starting anytime soon?

There's -several- different complete armors in X4-X6 for X, which was pretty awesome. Some of them get brutally hard to find and complete though.
