Really? When I had my Go, I thought the battery life was decent, wasn't as good as a Slim with an extended battery obviously but it was better than the original 1k. I remember getting a solid 6-7 hours out of it.

I like the idea of the Xperia Play. If I was going to have a smartphone, it would probably be the one I would get.

It is an android phone, and it has dedicated controls. That is in my opinion the best smartphone one could get if you are a gamer. It doesn't replace a dedicated device such as the DS (with the high quality exclusives).

Now, if it was MUCH more expensive or crappier than other smartphones maybe not, but if it is comparable and offers dedicated controls instead of some other feature I'm not going to use (e.g. 4G access) then it seems like a good choice.

I hope there are future phones with this kind of option going forward.

Ivo.

You must be remembering wrong. It lasts about 3h of continuous playtime. Very poor for an "on the go" console.

I got mine a week ago and I love it. In terms of the bundled games I'm loving Sims 3 and my girlfriend is loving Crash Bandicoot. I also downloaded Worms HD for free from the EA store but haven't even tried it out yet.

Emulator wise, I'm using Tiger SNES. It allows one to map the control inputs to the hardware, perfect for Super Mario World :)
Currently playing: Skies of Arcadia, Mass Effect 2, Backbreaker

Consoles Owned: XBox 360, Gamecube, Playstation 2, Dreamcast, Saturn, N64, N64DD, PSone, XBox, Game Boy Advance SP, Gameboy Pocket, Game Gear.

I still want to at least get my hands on a demo unit to get a feel of the device quality.

very good post man, I saw that Verizon was offering the phone for $99. If it was me and I had the upgrade, I'd seriously consider it seeing as how good some of the games look & the capability of having emulators. I wonder if some will just use this phone for a handheld, does it have wifi?
