A lot of the time I know the value out of memory. My first priority is finding stuff I want personally, and then I look for stuff for cheap that I know is worth "x" amount. On good days, when I resell what I found it pays for what I plan on keeping. I wish I had a smartphone though, I have a great memory...but of course there are many games I don't know about for various systems that I have passed up. I remember seeing a jaguar in a plastic bag with quite a few games thinking "I have no clue what they are asking, it will be here when I leave so I'll ask then" It was right when I was walking into the flea market. Of course it was gone when I was on my way out :(

Goodwill is the best spot for me to get some good deals, there are like 4 within 15 mins of eachother that i hit up. Some examples of what i have found:

Saturn with all hookups and controller -$10
FC twin console with hook ups and controller -$5
GBA (first style) $3
games are usually $3 each, I have found saturn, nes, Dreamcast, Snes, ps1/2, genesis etc games regularly.

At almost everyone every time I see a gamecube or 2 and PS1's for $10 or under.

complete black label rpgs at a thrift store in the bay area? clearly i'm hitting up the wrong stores. last time i made my thrift store rounds, i think the most exciting thing i found was a copy of Crash Bash in questionable condition for $5.

Leave the good games for people who want to play them. Buy games you want to play. Get a real job to make money and don't price gouge people like you are intending to do.

Reselling is a perfectly fair way to fund this hobby. If someones selling below the going rate, they don't know what it's worth and pretty much just want to get rid of it. I'd rather it go to an individual reseller than gamestop or a dumpster. Resellers make money by getting games to people who want to play them, that's a good thing.

Although, in my experience someone who has gone through the trouble of getting a flea market booth knows what they are selling. I've never made a really good score at a flea market. Thrift stores and garage sales and Craigslist are much better prospects in my experience.

I only knew about them because my brother called me when he made a visit there. Usually my local Goodwill does not have a damn thing.
