Games You Wish Would Get Ports

Post by lisalover1 »

Sometimes, a game just doesn't feel right on a certain platform. Or, maybe it does, but it would work even better on a new platform. I'm sure you know what I am talking about, so let us discuss games you want to see ports of [be sure to include the console to which it should be ported, and why]!

Bangai-O [DC->Any Dual Analog-Controlled Console]: This may be cheating, since it was recently fulfilled with the release of Bangai-O Missile Fury for XBLA, but I thought I should include it anyway. Why? because the Dreamcast original was a nightmare to control. It was a total pain, and I never really got used to it. I have heard that the N64 version of the game is a bit better, and actually makes good use of the bizarre controller, but I knew that a dual-analog version of the game would be the best place for the game.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 [PC->iOS/Android]: Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 is far and away my favorite PC-exclusive game of all time, but its exclusivity comes as a disappointment. I think now is the perfect time to re-release the game on smartphones and tablets. The hardware is there, and a few interface tweaks would make it a great fit for touchscreens. There was a port of the original Roller Coaster Tycoon for the original Xbox, but it was a hastily-made port with unfathomable controls and terrible lag. If some effort was put into an iOS and Android port, I think this would sell like hotcakes.

after seeing what Square did with FFIV Complete, I'd really like to see III get ported to PSP. None of that 3d remake shit they pulled on the DS.

I want a SegaSonic the Hedgehog home release of some kind. Preferably there'd be some way to connect a trackball controller, but I'm not too particular really. I just want to play the game.

This is on XBLA or are you referring to something else?

I want Earthbound on DS. And Snatcher on PSP. And Sonic CD on PSN/XBLA, with both soundtracks available to choose from.

Could be some horrible licensing issue. You never know with movie/comic book/tv show based games.

I've read it works ok in MAME, but I want an official release from Sega.
