There is also a Zone of Endoers HD collection.

Also both will be available on the 360 as well as PS3.

Question now is, how much will these collections cost?

I'm sure despite already owning or playing these games, these collections are a nice addition to any collection and a must have for a lot of us. I think $40 sounds reasonable.

$40 sounds reasonable to me as well. The Tomb Raider Collection and the Sly Cooper Collection were $40 MSRP right?

What does this say about that PSP Remasters thing though? I thought Peace Walker was going to be part of that or something?

My assumption is more that the collection is meant to make the games available to PS3 owners - MGS is already available on PSN, and every PS3 out there can play the PSX version to boot.

There are a lot of HD remakes coming, and most seem to be surrogates for robust backwards compatibility/upscaling, rather than definitive box sets.
To me, this is more the Remaster of Peace Walker with 2 & 3 thrown in as a bonus.

4 isn't exactly a fan favorite, I'm not shocked that it's not included.

HD Silent Hill 2 and 3 though? Count me in! The PC versions looked beautiful in hi res.

Well, PSP games already release for $40 brand new right? If an HD port of a PSP game was $40 people would probably act a little irate. So I'm guessing the PSP Remasters series is probably gonna be around $30 instead (Like the greatest hits games). Maybe Peace Walker will get a (Cheaper) stand-alone PS3 release as well as it's release for the collection with 2 and 3?

no MGS1?
It's too difficult to upscale PS1 games to HD. They would have to go full-on remake or include Twin Snakes. Option A isn't cost effective, and Option B is highly undesirable.
Twin Snakes wasn't bad. They just went a little over board with some of the cutscenes.

Although, with retarded asshat crazy shit cut scenes MGS4 had, Twin Snakes fits right in these days.
Not quite. The rocket-jumping scene was crazy, even by MGS4 standards. I still like TTS, though, and wish an HD version was included. I have no idea why we're getting Peace Walker, but no Portable Ops, anyone have an idea why?

I'd assume Portable Ops was a lot more well received, plus had Kojima involved a lot more with it. That said I've wanted to play that one too and including it would have been nice here.
