I'm playing MMX4 and Chrono Trigger currently. In MMX4 I flew through all the robot masters really fast, but I got stuck on the fight with Double. So I took a break since it was kind of break-neck how quickly I made it up to that point.

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
It's not that bad. Superman 64 barely even qualifies as a game. MM7 gets a bad rap for awkwardly blending 2d and 3d and I won't sit here and tell you it's a high point in the series. It's playable though, and meats the bare minimum requirements of an X game. You kill robots, get upgrades, then go kill Sigma. I give em credit for trying to do something new and the game shows more effort put into it in my opinion than X6YoshiEgg25 wrote:*YoshiEgg25 starts chanting ostentatiously.Flake wrote:I'll beat Megaman X7 if you beat something just as horrible for you.swiftzx wrote: And now Flake goes and tries to beat Megaman X7.

2010 Games Beaten
Terraforming is a standout shmup for the PC Engine CD, which is saying something considering the competition. In the end I felt I needed to credit-feed through a few stages of the game as there were some sections that were simply unfair, but the visuals and the score throughout were both excellent. Syd Mead's designs were interesting to behold, and the game is certainly recommended to fans of the genre.
Dark Nebula 2 did what I thought it couldn't: significantly improve on one of the best games for iOS. Not only does Dark Nebula 2 offer more interesting stages, but the addition of boss battles and a really surprising final stage (I wanted more!) really make this one a standout on the iPhone. It may be in my top 2-3 for the platform, and everyone should buy it (and the first game).

Glad to hear you ended up liking it. I've always enjoyed fighters, but BlazBlue really grew on me in ways no other fighter has. Beyond the fact that it's addictively fun to play and looks gorgeous, you really get a sense that the characters have personalities and relations with each other, and that Kagutsuchi actually has history, or at least I did. No fighter has ever even come close to doing that for me.noiseredux wrote:16. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (PS3)
I haven't played it in ages, but I remember it being pretty close to unplayable. Beyond the blending 2D and 3D awkwardly and making me play as some lame new protagonist, I seem to remember the controls being horribly still and the platforming being nightmarish. Maybe I just wanted to hate it though and remember it being worse than it actually was.MMX7
Either way, it's probably the worst MM PS2 game. At least we got Command Mission on PS2, that was a pretty sweet game.

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
I see this complaint a lot, but I didn't have problems with the controls or the platforming. Course, I play a LOT of platformers. I understand that the blending of 2D and 3D was awkward for people though. It didn't pose a problem for me though as I got used to it pretty quick, but I totally see why it turned off a lot of people and I think the game would have been better served if they had made up their minds to make it strictly 2D or strictly 3D.brunoafh wrote:Glad to hear you ended up liking it. Personally though, I rate it higher than Mega Man X 6. MM X 7 may have been awkward, but it felt FINISHED. Mega Man X 6 felt like a beta game or something. It never should have been released the way it was. It has the WORST stage design of the whole series to me. By comparison, MM X 7 was a step up in level design. I think levels in MM X 7 felt awkward to people because the blending of 2d and 3d was bizarre, not because of genuinely bad level design or even bad controls. That's my story and I'm sticking to it
I don't know, I see people complain about controls in Mega Man X 4 and Mega Man Maverick Hunter X too. To me, they felt no different than any other Mega Man X game. They're all smooth as silk for me.

Re: Games Beaten : 2011
Didn't Mega Man X7 require you to find robots that gave you all of your upgrades, but said robots could be killed, making it impossible for you to get them? I seem to remember that...I've played a few levels of MMX7, but I've never really been big on the X series in general.

Thoughts on the Game(s)
This games single player is hands down the best single player experience I have ever seen in a fighting game, and by a long shot. If you are a fan on the MK movie you will utterly eat this single player up. Some of the 2 on 1 fights took some time and the final fighter took me awhile, but when I did win, I won the second round flawless victory.
Really solid fighter, shame it was not released in Australia.

Metro 2033 (PC) *New*
Finally gotten around to beating this. Decided to play it again since I had upgraded my graphics card to a 6950 2GB, I wanted to experience the game on the highest settings with the DX11 extra snazzy-ness. This game is beautiful, the volumetric fog and particle effects combined with the tessellation in water surfaces just makes the game drip in atmosphere. I was very disappointed by the length though. Just a mere 7 hours, although I did get stuck on certain points due to the punishing difficulty, so playing on easy mode could around 4 hours. Seriously, fuck those librarians, complete and utter bullet sponges, I had to resort to throwing knifes as it was the only weapon I had that had reusable ammo. Play this game and try and kill a librarian with only throwing knifes and tell me how hard it is.
I'm excited for Metro: Last Light. It will be interesting to see how much they flesh the story out. I want to know what the hell the final chapter was about...
