I'm really tired of links opening in the same tab I'm currently viewing. I want them to automatically open up in a new tab like pretty much every other site I visit...
I know I can just right click and select "open in new tab" but I shouldn't have to do that
Is that a forum option I can change somewhere or is that a change that has to be made by the admins?
Also, if this forum had a section for technical issues pertaining to the actual website I would have posted this there, hahaha

middle mouse click
get out of town....lol
I just learned something new haha
Still, I would prefer the default behavior to be to open in a new tab. Believe it or not not everyone has a 3 button mouse...
Yes, on many other forums it automatically directs links to another tab. It gets really irritating on this forum to have to remember to do something different.
Ctrl+Click is another option. Personally I can't stand it when links automatically open in a new tab/window (with certain exceptions, like popups for instructions on a page). I want to be able to decide "Ok, these links I want in a new tab, these ones I want to just update the window". The other thing is when you click a link that opens a new tab it steals focus. Many times I don't want to look at that link right away; I want to take a look after I finish reading something on this page.

Command-Click on a Mac, Cntrl+Shift-Click on a PC. I think.
I prefer the default behavior of opening links in another tab too though.
I'm with Popo. Whether to use a tab or not should be left up to the user. There's no good way to un-tab a link that opens itself in a new tab. There is an easy way to tab a link that does not open in a tab. Therefore, the option that gives the user the most control is to default to no tab.
Personally, about 95% of the time I open new links in a background tab. I read an entire page, middle click on all the links I want to open new tabs, but I don't read them until I'm done with the original page. Then I repeat the process on all the tabs I opened.

Ctrl + Click works for me. I also agree with MrPopo. I only want to open in a new tab when I hold Ctrl, otherwise I prefer to open within the same tab.
Holy shit I never knew about the middle mouse button to open new tabs either! Now I can justify posting on here at work if I am learning useful things.
