Yes, it is pretty easy to emulate PS1 games, you just need a somewhat recent computer with a decent video card. FFT would also be a good choice, not sure how it did commercially; but it has quite a following.raztat wrote:is it easy to emu ps1 games? Im not paying 70 for ff7. The first ff game that we need to play is FFT! Please say that game is coming up.

Yeah I can see getting burned out on an era.mrgoodbytes wrote:just a suggestion but you should probably switch up 'eras' every week. While I love me some pre-nes era games, I can see alot of people simply turned off by them. That way you could effectively run a game thread for a month, and keep a greater percentage of people engauged.

My vote for the first 3D game is I, Robot for the arcade, but that'll probably be overridden. In actuality, I'd put forth a vote for Jumping Flash or its sequel as the first PS1 game--early in the system's life, regarded as one of its best games in the first wave, before people saw what the system could really do.
Good point.geozeldadude wrote:and just to remind you, chrono trigger has the added advantage that unlike FFT or earthbound it's relatively easy to find a legal copy, namely the PSX version (which came w/ FF4).

I would definitely be interested in either Chrono Trigger or Earthbound... never really played either.
Apparently a real hidden gem for the PC is the 1999 Planescape: Torment developed by Black Isle Studios. Just check out some of the reviews: http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B0 ... ewpoints=1 and http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/planesca ... index.html . The only problem is that it might be difficult to find a physical copy of the game. However, I've heard that you can purchase a digital copy from GameTap.
