I had and played Yellow and Crystal back then. Only recently, in a small pile of GBA games I "won" there were 2 GBA Pokemons among them, too. I played them a few hours but I didn´t find much really "new" compared to the GBC ones. Nice to see how a good concept lives on to the DS era and is still as well known as 12-odd years ago.
I grew up with Doom and Duke Nukem and the classic platformers and much much less with RPGs or any kind of trading games. I guess at one time or another they will end as a gift to another family member. There is nothing at all wrong with Pokemon, the concept is brilliant but I can only, have always only been able to, play in 15 minute segments each, cannot immerse into long stories and careers to build.
Nintendo GB, GBA SP, DS phat, GBA, GB Color, GB Micro, DS lite, GB Pocket, GBA SP Tribal, Atari Lynx since 09/2010, Sega Game Gear since 01/11, Neo Geo Poket Color since 05/11

I appreciate the shoe with a Game Boy Color inside.

Man, I feel bad just joking about it

A couple years ago my band went on tour and we ran a contest. All four of us got a game from a different generation and made up a ridiculous team (All Moustaches, All Metapods and so on) and if anyone could beat us in a battle, we gave them a free piece of merchandise.

We're all in our twenties, and most of the people we ran into who played were as old or older than us - so don't feel bad about playing these games. If the same thing came out with a different name no one would care.

I was reading a poll recently of Irish Nintendo supporters/loyalists, and when their ages were gauged, the majority of responses were from men over 25, with the majority of them
being over 30. Common thread amongst them all? Pokemon.
