Dude, I am such an idiot.

I have beaten Shinobi 3, via Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

I don't know what the hell I was mixing it up with...

How stupid of me.

Haha, maybe mixing it up with Revenge of Shinobi? I get them mixed up sometimes myself (3 being Return of the Ninja Master, always liked it way more because you could run and the controls were way better).

Here's my list. Some of them are classics that I've never beaten; some of them are just games I own that I'm disappointed I've never gotten around to playing/beating.
  • Warcraft 2 (including expansion) [PC]
  • Warcraft 3 (including expansion) [PC]
    • For all the time I've put into Blizzard RTSs, I've never done much in the campaigns. I recently beat the Warcraft 1 campaign (and it was actually really fun), and I want to continue playing through them. After I finish these I'm going to go through Starcraft / Brood War / Starcraft 2, but I think just 2 and 3 is enough of a goal for the summer.
  • Treasure of the Rudras [SNES]
  • Front Mission [SNES]
    • I bought these two repros almost a year ago (Thanks Ziggy!), but they've pretty much been collecting dust. I recently starting playing ToR again after starting it like 6 months ago, and I'm nearing the end. I'm also reaaaaaly in the mood for a strategy RPG right now, so I look forward to playing through Front Mission afterwards.
  • Castlevania 3 [NES]
    • I finally beat level 9 for the first time yesterday. I'm determined to beat this game.
  • Sonic The Hedgehog [GEN]
    • I don't know what it is about Sonic games, but I'm really bad at them. I don't think I'm terrible at platformers in general, but for some reason Sonic games always defeat me, so I'm determined to beat at least one of them. Depending on how this goes, I might replace it with Sonic 2, as I've at least made it to the last boss in that game.
  • The Legend of Zelda [NES]
    • I really don't like Zelda games, but I did thoroughly enjoy Link to the Past, so I figure I should at least give this classic a try as well.
  • Gradius III [SNES]
    • It was either this, Super R-Type, or R-Type 3. Gradius III gets the nod because it's this month's Together Retro.
  • Chrono Cross [PS]
    • I started it a while ago but didn't get very far and had to push it aside to focus on school. As a lover of 90s Squaresoft, this is definitely a game I should play. Also, I refuse to download an RPG's soundtrack until I beat it, and I want this amazing soundtrack on my computer.
  • Ultima: Exodus [NES]
    • I'm not going to lie; this game is terrible. But I'm a sucker for shitty games sometimes. My friend and I started playing it, and we're determined to get through it before the summer's over.

With three lengthy jRPGs and two fairly long RTS campaigns, I doubt I'll actually get through all of this, but that's why it's called a challenge, right?
I'm known as ZebetiteGlitch or Zeza Von Thantos on other platforms.

  • Likely to finish
  • Chrono Trigger - DS - I have beaten the SNES version enough times to get all of the endings, havent touched the game since 00. Figured its about time to play the directors cut
  • N+ - DS - play through all singleplayer and as many multiplayer stages as possible
  • Legend of Zelda - NES - No Sword playthrough (so I started this about three weeks ago, it still counts).
  • Broken Sword Directors cut - PC - I never actually beat Broken Sword. I love the game, but always get stuck near the end. I am hunkering down and beating it completely.
  • Planescape Torment - PC - I got to Raven Puzzelwall last time and the game crashed so I stopped playing. The GoG version imported my saves so I should be good to go (now to relearn the system).
  • Unlikely
  • Secret of Mana - SNES - I want to play it multiplayer and my pick for player 2 is 5 hours away, and not a hardcore gamer...Im working on her
  • Rayman - PC - I just never got into the series, I love the art style though.
  • Dragons Lair HD - PC - I dont think I will EVER beat this game without cheating.
  • Company of Heroes - PC - long RTS
  • Professor Layton Unwound Future - DS - Aslong as the story holds up it wont be a problem, but the last games story died on me once we got on the train.
  • Very Unlikely
  • Witcher - PC - Its just a bit past the time consuming level I am comfortable for , for summer play atleast.
  • Beating Ack in Street Fighter Alpha 2 - its not that he is super good, its just I am that terrible at it.
So I am heavy PC and DS this time. I travel alot in the summer, so console titles are hard to get time to play consistently.

So I know a few of us are playing Chrono Trigger (all different ports, I think), which is the first game I'm tackling in the challenge. So far I am really appreciating the aesthetics, most fights seem relatively simple (which makes it enjoyable), but the story isn't really clicking with me just yet. I am not sure how much we can talk about this while playing without spoiling (I've never played the game before), but I am about 6.5 hours in and am looking forward to knocking this one off sooner rather than later. :D

How far is everyone? Thoughts?

I'm between 3 and 4 hrs into the PS1 port, and I absolutely love this game now.
