Duke Nukem Forever release date announced

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I'd like to see the numbers on how many pre-orders from 1997 are redeemed when DNF comes out.
I wonder how many people even still have their receipts from way back when. I know I would have either thrown it out or lost it in the 14 yearsish since it was announced.

If you're in the first access club (from preordering) log in to the site; your Steam Key for the demo is waiting.

Waiting for that stupid fucking directx run time bullshit to finish then no doubt the visual c redistributable. Why does Steam do this for every single fucking game?

To ensure you have the most up-to-date copy of the runtimes needed to play the game. If you already have them installed, it doesn't install anything -- but it checks first.

Remember when you only had to install a game once?

Played the demo, it was pretty fun, albeit quite short. I guess I can't survive only on demos like on the old days.

I thought the Call of Duty style health regeneration was a bit odd. Health packs are no longer "in", right?

It actually reminded me a bit of Borderlands. Must be because of the desert scenery and the driving parts. I'm glad they didn't go with Borderlands's floaty jump. I always thought it was weird.

The game is a bit on the easy side, now. Not that I'm complaining, I'm all for making games more accessible, and although it was linear, it didn't feel like playing in a corridor. I liked it.
