Smile: Watching Robotech: The Macross Saga for the first time ever.

I cringe when the Captain comes up with a "plan" that he insists is "the only way". So many people die and the collateral damage is staggering.

You mean to tell me this show was on when I was a kid and I never knew!?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

A great series. Wait till you discover the Japanese Movie, a true gem.

I'm a total nut for 70's and 80's mecha shows but I somehow completely missed this gem - which is weird because I was all about Transformers, Gobots, and Power Rangers as a child.

I'm still feeling my way around the difference between the Japanese and US versions. As I understand it, they both use the original Macross footage as jumping off points. But then the Japanese version continues the Macross story and the US version incorporates two completely unrelated television shows once the Macross footage runs out.

Oddly, I find that to be a fascinating way to do things. I'm only on episode 7 so I probably have a good amount of time before the first switch over. It's going to be a fun ride getting there.

Smile: I was able to mow, trim, weed garden, pick up 3 truckloads of mulch, pressure wash my deck, finish a couple loads of laundry, grab groceries, make a delicious korean dish, plant some more annuals around the house, called Mom to say hi, fixed the throttle issue with my tiller, started organizing the garage, and i'm spent! I'm so screwed if I have kids. I love days like this!

Frown: My wife backed out of the garage into her father's truck, which I just borrowed. :| The truck was barely scratched, but the Honda has a nice impression on the left rear fender.

Ticked: DC comics is rebooting continuity. Again. Again.

Seriously, I am getting tired of watching one of my favorite fictional universes going down the toilet. DC needs more readers, yeah, I get that. But why try to appeal to these new readers at the expense of your current ones? These constant 'crisis' level cross-overs are the reason I only read 3 books these days down from nearly a dozen back in the day, DC. And it's not like I'm alone on that one.

Because all my retro systems came with RF cables. I already had an RF tv in my room and I don't have any money to buy a new tv. My ps3, xbox and dreamcast are hooked up to the AV tv in my living room and theres not enough space there for the 8 consoles in my room. I'm saving up for a computer/Wii so I don't really have time to get a new tv. Plus it works so I'm not complaining
