Hey guys! i am really interested in buying a sega cd mainly for the point and click games.. I heard that the sega cd version of willy beamish is almost unplayable because of the load times. Do any of you know if this is true? How are the load times in monkey island?
Thanks
Dan

while i personally don't know the answer (though monkey island and willy beamish are on my to-play-soon list), i have heard that willy beamish can be sluggish at times where you think the game might have froze, but is actually still going if you wait long enough. i believe i also read that your results vary from model to model
Have you evern played an EA game such as NCAA Football 20xx on PS2? Remember the load times encountered while navigating the menus to start a game? Willy Beamish isn't any worse on my SC2 but you do encounter the load times more often. Load times are what they are, just deal with it and enjoy the game!

I really enjoyed the willy beamish game as a kid.
I also got to play it at one of the CES shows. and while its possible they improved it before the final release I remember it was one of the big reasons I could never hype myself up about the sega cd... my 286 10Mhz with 6megs of ram did a better job of playing the game than sega did.
I had a hard time dealing with the load on that game back then, cant image sitting through it today. ya probably worth while picking up from a collection standpoint, but you cant seriously want to play it on a sega cd rather than emulate it and keep your sanity.
monkey island wasnt nearly as bad.
