I am not much of a PC guy but I am really starting to love Adventure games. So I want to try and make a list of adventure games that made it over to consoles and handhelds. I will start by listing ones I know off hand, I would appreciate it if others could help me make this list, please include also the platform its on. Tales of Monkey Island is on the Wii as well via WiiWare.
The Wii has a ScummVM build which will get you playing most the great P&C games from the 90's including Lucasarts backlog as well as Broken Sword, Beneath a Steel Sky, etc.

You're able to make a list like that, and you need help?
I think D2 was on the Dreamcast. I'd be the first to put Shenmue under the adventure category, it's just not the same type as most.
You could also count Zelda/Metroid and their clones, but that's probably a whole other subgenre.

When I say "Adventure Game" I mean this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure_gameMidnightRider wrote:You're able to make a list like that, and you need help?

D2 unlike D is more action oriented, Survival horror as a genre is pretty close to adventure games but usually has too much action and less story driven interaction.

You forgot...
PSP:
Myst
It's getting a download only port sometime soon. June 16th according to Gamespot.
Am I the only person who doesn't complain that Myst has so many ports?

I don't complain per se, but I would admit I don't get why there are so many. Hasn't EVERYONE played this game by now? Are any of the ports different than the original?MrEco wrote:You forgot...

Re: Help: List of Adventure games on consoles/handhelds.
I don't know if you're counting downloadable games, but there are monkey island, strong bad and sam and max games on various mixtures of XBLA, Wiiware and PSN.
Sam and Max Season one: XBLA
Sam and Max Season 2: XBLA
Sam and Max Season 3: PSN
Secret of Monkey Island: XBLA, PSN
Monkey Island 2: XBLA, PSN
Escape from Monkey Island: PS2
Tales of Monkey Island: Wiiware (5 parts), PSN (Bundle)
Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People: Wiiware (5 parts), PSN (Bundle)
You can also add Discworld and Discworld 2 to the Sega Saturn list.
And if you're adding PAL games, Another Code R on Wii, which is the sequel to Another Code/Trace Memory on DS.
EDIT: And unless you speak Japanese, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney should be under DS and not GBA.
Edit2: And pre-empting noiseredux, you need to put Scooby Doo: Classic Creep Capers and Deja Vu I & II for GBC on the list aswell.

Just out of curiosity though, why not play on PC?pepharytheworm wrote:Disclaimer: please don't mention that I should play on PC and that there are more on PC, I know already, and I know there are a lot of great games I will miss.
The genre is usually called Point & Click Adventure because it is so heavily PC based.
That being said, I will add to your NES list Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom.
